I head read the odd comment here and there. I read one member did this already by running a longer USB cable up the A pillar already as well.

Anyone have some great pics and work around to getting USB power to the upper console, which should have been there day 1 for that GoPro mount?

I am going to be using a Drift Camera Ghost HD for my dash cam and it has a car DVR mode (which works awesome!) with their GoPro mount. I know I can just leave it up there running without a cable but it works so much better with it being powered feature wise.

I can't stand cables hanging around my dash or in front of my field of view, drives me nuts.

I am going to see if I can get me hands on a wiring diagram and see if there is a solid enough power supply for something. I have a few ideas but don't really want to hack into things for warranty reasons.

You should be able to power it off the back of the rearview mirror if it will run off of 12V. If not, someone posted an adapter awhile back that will convert that power to USB.

I haven't done it on this one yet, but I tied into the center dome light power for the radar detector on my other car. If you get a small adapter to convert from 12v to 5v for the GoPro, you could hide it all under the headliner and just have a short cable popping out at the top of the windshield.

If you have sunroof, tie into motor leads. I did my V1 like that. Super easy.
