    Hey Iwcclaley,

I installed the same deck a few months ago. I purchased the below linked USB port so I had a connection straight to the deck and also a usb charging only port.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N12G8QY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&th=1

I did however have to modify the USB port so that it worked properly as it's a cheaply made USB port (as far as the internal USB wire is concerned). I wrote up a review on my experience/mod of the USB, read the review titled:

It was pretty simple to do. I just de-soldered the existing USB wire and used the USB cable that came with the new deck and soldered it back in. Works perfectly and looks good in the truck.

    Good luck!

I can think of about a hundred places I'd put a USB outlet in my truck other than front-and-center in the dashboard, but I'm glad you're happy with that position!

I have never seen anyone attempt that before. I would be more concern of that spot introducing cracks down the road. I can only assume that you have a windshield phone holder?
