    I don't know of any good way to "splice" a USB cable connection like that... You could try a few different splitters and cables to see what happens. That's what retail store return policies are for, right? XD

    So im sitting in the Brown Toyota waiting lounge(Charlottesville, Va) waiting for the stealership to finish with maintenance on my truck. So far 3 employees including someone who looks to be a manager here has complimented me on this dash. And i will be giving a demo when they finish it in a bit..... Victim of my own success. Lol

    92 degrees here and my truck sat out from 8-5 no temp warning. Now I do have my whole windshield at 50% and my 3 rear at 5% and then two front at 15% but still 92 degrees

    So three people asked me today if my screen was oem. So good job Shane good job lol.

    On another note. A guy that saved my ass today while I was out at the local off-road park was one of those people. He owns a 2003 tundra and wants to know if you can make him a kit.

    I'd love to start making these for other vehicles. Have him contact me.
    Also, there is a slight chance that you will start seeing these for a LOT of other vehicles, made at a much more affordable price from a big company. Keep your fingers crossed, guys! My interview with said company is on Thursday.

    Hey everyone!

    Just wanted to keep everyone that is waiting for their kit informed. Finally got them back from paint and they are looking great! I'm putting the finishing touches on them tonight and they will ship out at some point tomorrow, unless we have already talked about other arrangements. Thanks again for your patience!

    And for everyone that doesn't have a kit yet but definitely / maybe / probably / eventually wants one, here is some important news;

    I am going to run an impromptu group buy on iPad kits this week for two reasons;

    1. I have a lot of people on the fence about buying one of my setups and I would like to help make their decisions and boost my production numbers since it's much more feasible to make these in batches.

    2. I am likely taking an employment position within the next week that may ask me to stop making these, as they have a vested interest in the same market and may buy my idea / designs and make it into their own product. So I'd like to get as many sold before that could potentially happen.

    I'll run a 15% discount, on the dash pieces only, as opposed to the 10% which I have offered in the past. All orders must be submitted by Friday.

    I already have three others committed to the group buy and I need at least 5 to make it happen. Let me know if you're in!

    Alright I'm in! Congrats on the potential sale of the idea/design! Really does go to show how awesome this kit really is :thumbsup:

    My biggest question here is what is the difference in width between the 05-11 models and 12+? Curious because I still want to update my 08 with a 12+ makeover. If there is no difference in size I'd prolly just get a 12+ front loading kit with the cutout for the 12+ clock and hazard light piece. If they are different is it possible to get an 05-11 width with the 12+ cutout for the clock and hazard lights? This is a general question for anyone who can answer, ill send an email to you as well Shane

    Awesome! Welcome aboard!

    There is a difference in the two kits. The 05-11 one is larger and has those 4 ridges at the top of the kit. They both only fit in their respective dash trim pieces. The cut out for the 12+ clock and hazard light piece comes with the kit, but trying to cut that same opening into an 05-11 kit would probably not work very well.

    The only other piece that you would need to convert that portion of the dash to the 12+ style would be the dash trim /A/C piece. You can probably find one for a decent price from a totaled Tacoma.

    Either way, I'll be looking forward to getting your email!

    Okay! So the group buy is officially ON!

    We have 5 people so far, and at the 15% discount that makes the kits priced accordingly until Friday;

    Rear Loading: $276 (Normally $325)
    Front Loading: $378 (Normally $445)

    And for anyone that is still on the fence about this because of the added cost of the wiring / integration / radio setup to make the iPad work in dash, please feel free to buy your components online and wire it up yourself! I really can't make much money on doing this, since radio prices are so blown out thanks to the web, so it's usually more of a hassle than its worth. I can still sell you a pre-wired harness for a good price if the wiring portion of things scares you.

    Thanks to everyone who has jumped on the group buy so far! Looking forward to making some high-end dash kits and setting overly-optimistic timelines for the build process! :D

    Hahah. Yes. Yes they are. Fixing now.

    Doh!

    This mistake was brought to you, in part, by consecutive 16 hour work days!
