Mode button will cycle sources on the radio behind the iPad. Up and down should cycle radio presets or seek through stations when on the AMFM sources

Another thing you will like about having an in dash iPad mini, is the dash command app. It's a module you plug into the diagnostic port under the dash, $28 through Amazon, which allows you to monitor your trucks performance, mileage and other great options through the iPad mini.

One last question does the kit allow you to still make Bluetooth phone calls?

Yep! The kit is designed to make a hard wired connection via USB to the head unit, leaving the Bluetooth connection open to your phone.

Can anyone confirm in here that a 2012+ AC climate control module is plug and play with the earlier 05-11 models? Also for all you 2012-15 tacomas, on the hazard/clock panel below the radio, is the piece that surrounds the hazard button and clock part of the radio trim or is it removable. Im asking because I'm trying to locate all parts to convert from my 05-11 center dash

You're asking a question that is hard to confirm, however I would assume Toyota used the same electrical plugs for 05 to 2015. Not sure where I saw it, but someone on here or instagram has already completed an interior upgrade to a 12+. The hazard button and clock is removable.

FYI, everyone who is interested in this, the Sony GS610bt radio is becoming discontinued. I secured enough for my current orders plus one, but it is unlikely that these radios will be around for any longer. The one that is replacing it utilizes a new app that is much less friendly for this application.

    This looks great OP!
Do you have any (one more) of the Sony head unit for sale?
If not can I provide my own (to use with your wiring) for my 2011 w/o JBL?
When using steering controls and Sonyt head unit what does one see on iPad screen (Sony user interface?)
Read in previous post that Sony Interface was no longer working with iOS9: what is latest iOS Sony will work with?
    Thanks!

    Hey all,

To update on the current production kits, they're moving pretty slowly. Between the weather which determines if I can spray primer or not, and my hectic schedule trying to get things prepped for CES, I haven't been able to make a lot of progress on these, but they will get there. Once the holidays are behind us and CES is over I'll have a lot more time to dedicate toward wrapping these up, so I anticipate they will be ready to ship by the end of January. Thanks all for your patience!

Bummer. Will be worth the wait though, just wish I left my iPad mini in the box because I know what I'm missing waiting on the kit to be ready hahaha. Bryant can pick mine up from you when it's ready, cause he's going to help me do the install.

Yeah, sorry man, I wish I could have it done sooner. If you're local enough, I'm happy to help with the install, as well.

I'll bring the beers!!!!!! No rush bro, I have OCD when it comes to my truck, so I'd rather you take the time to build it than rush and have it turn out not as good. I have family up in TO, so my wife can visit her mom and we can do an install day.

Is anyone running a good app on the iPad for an off road GPS? I just got the dual GPS adapter so I can run location via satellite on my indash iPad.

I got one called pocket earth that I liked while I was in the desert a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if you can get topo maps on it, though.
