The only thing I would be worried about is that your EQ is being mounted where the clock / hazard unit currently is. Your EQ is much deeper than that unit.

I just picked up a 128GB, WiFi iPad Mini 3. Looking forward to playing with that, and getting all of the apps I'm going to run. Lots of maps...

i have an iPad mini 16gb with a data plan, and i don't have nearly enough space on it for my music. would this setup work well with an external hard drive plugged into the HU and tucked away in the glovebox or somewhere else?

I don't know anything about wired external storage for iDevices, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

If you have a data plan you could use iCloud to stream your music without downloading it, or even better spottily or itunes radio

The current kits in production are coming along nicely. I've been working on them every night this week. Ordinarily, they would be ready for paint right now, but after applying primer, I've found a few things with the body work that I'm not entirely happy with, so I will have to address those issues tomorrow. I hate to keep pushing the completion date back but I refuse to compromise quality to meet deadlines. This production run has been delayed from the beginning due to extended wait time for parts since SEMA was last week. If my body shop will paint these on Saturday, they will all ship out Monday morning. In the mean time, here are some pics of how the kits are as of tonight.

Went to go get working on the kits after work today and stressed tested one problem area on one of the kits. The body filler detached way too easily, so I proceeded to check the other kits. They all popped on the sides. Usually scoring the areas that need to bond with the body filler with 60 grit sand paper is enough to hold it but apparently not. Maybe the colder weather has something to do with it. Very frustrating.

Anyways, I've already got a solution in the works and I will be rebuilding the kits between tonight and tomorrow. I apologize again for the extended wait time, and thanks so much to you guys who have been patient with this process so far. This kind of stuff is bound to happen with the first couple production runs which is why my kits are still in the "introductory" period. The best thing I can do is find these types of errors before it's too late and amend my fabrication process to eliminate them.

    Hey Shane,

Thanks a lot for being up front about all of this; that is the right answer, and it should build trust in future customers. I hope I can speak for everyone when I say that I much prefer quality and craftsmanship in a custom product, over receiving it a fews days sooner. I would also hope that we knew what we were getting into when we decided to be the first few people to venture into this new experiment. Perhaps maybe we can help? I'm a degreed mechanical engineer; I'd be happy to help with research if need be.

Please keep us updated (pics are awesome), but ultimately take your time. I won't install this product before I get my remote starter installed anyways (28 NOV 2014), so I'll be happy if I get it before then. If not, I hope the quality makes the wait worth it.

    Hunter

Yeah take your time man, I prefer quality over time. Also are you rebuilding the kits? Just doubled checked and the alpine knob docent work with the epicenter :(

Hey Shane, I live in your neck of the woods and would be happy to lend you any help you need. Even if it's just sanding and paint prep. You're doing great work and I'd love to see your product be successful!

Uh oh! Well, luckily I hadn't built that part of the kit yet. If you want to send my an audio control knob, I can still put that one on instead.

Hey man, thanks a bunch for the offer! This community is great. I'm in the middle of applying my new, overkill, method to one of the dash kits and it seems like it is going to work much better. I should have a handle on this by the end of the day and I'm hoping to have them all ready for paint again by Monday.
