I see I am kinda late in replying, but I will reiterate the need for the drive to be formatted in FAT32.
Some other little quirks I have found over the last few years: The head unit will only recognize the first 9999 tracks regardless of how many you put on the drive, or how you organize them (e.g. folders). The head unit will remember my settings (e.g. random) and where the tracks left off most of the time when I turn off the truck, but I seem to have about a 50/50 chance of needing to reselect random when using a drive larger than 64GB (otherwise it will start playing all tracks in alphabetical order by song title).

I currently have 5 of the little MicroFit drives in the cubby with different music genres, audiobooks, and radio shows. Interestingly, the head unit will remember where I left off when I swap drives (at least between 2). If I stop an audiobook in the middle of a chapter and swap to the music drive, then later swap back to the audiobook drive, it picks up right where it stopped. I have not thought to try to see if it will remember markers between more than 2.

Also you can divide your USB Drive into folders and some of the radios will let you select the folder for the music you want. I have about 7 folders on my drive and can select the folder with the music I want, or DW wants. to listen to at the time. Just takes some thinking on how to organize in the way you want.

I have 1063 files in five folders. I have never figured out how to get the Entune (2014) to recognize files. No matter what I have done, the radio sees 1063 files and will play them random (sort of) or sequentially (A-Z), by artist or album. What am I missing?

At the top of the audio screen I have several selections. One is for files too select individual songs and the other is for folders which select the folders the files are in. I have a 2013 DCLB with a non JBL factory system.

Also on the bottom right is a selection RND which determines how random the selections are. I have NON RDM, Files in folder Random and Entire drive Random.

Hope this helps. Too many different types of stereos to be exact.
