My brother works with a guy that dumps used motor oil onto his gravel driveway and then just rakes it around. He says the vapors coat his vehicles undercarriage and he never has rust issues. My brother confirmed that his truck was rust free(early 2000 Dodge Ram). Seems like the smell alone would drive you crazy.

I wasn't looking for his advise, I've never met the guy. I was just posting a discussion topic in the general automotive section. It's the intended purpose of web forums.

Some guy also tried to tell another guy that he could trick his truck to run on diesel by slowing adding more diesel to his gas... Didn't go well...

Epa would have his ballsack mounted on their wall. Hopefully he has a well and over the years it gets into his ground water. I went to a house near a gas station where every time they turned on the water it smelt like gas. Storage tank had a slow leak they didn't catch for a few weeks.

Funny here the town ship sprays oil on the roads to keep the dust down

Back in the day we also poured used oil in the driveway . Yes we all had wells as well

Now it gets burned to keep me warm.

That and it's not really an oil. It's probably tar and chips or some other compound. Real oil should have been discontinued far before the clean water act. Either way the oil will eventually end up in the water supply and if your lucky it's not enough to cause cancer... But then again water that is "clean" to epa standards is estimated to kill 32 out of 100k people.

Petroleum mixed with other products that turns into a solid is a bit different from a liquid product that washes away every time it rains. I would drink water from a plastic bottle made from oil... I wouldn't ingest the amount of oil required to make the bottle. Food for thought I grew up in a town where a local company ruined all the water with chromium.

Well, in some states/jurisdictions dumping Oil is illegal as hell, so you might want to check your local ordinances. Just sayin'

Bunker oil #6 needs to be heated to be liquid. 6 is pretty close to bituminous isn't it?
