I just picked up a used, branded 2020 Tacoma OR. The previous owner must have pulled their aftermarket head unit before it was auctioned off. The dealer I got it from rebuilt the truck and threw in an OEM head unit. I already pulled the dash a part and plugged photo sensor for the headlights and the birds eye view button back in. Lights come on and 360 view works on head unit. Found front tweeters missing. Easy fix. Got new ones.

Nav and usb for carplay don't work. Found that the usb plug to the oem unit was cut and a standard USB plug was spliced in. Can't find a toyota part number for a harness to go from factory radio to factory usb port next to all of the other buttons down lower. The oem head unit has an oem nav module screwed to the bottom of it. I'm missing a harness plug to the nav module and a few plugs to the head unit (one being usb because it was cut off instead of just getting an adapter).

The nav unit is PN# 86840-0e080 and the head unit is PN# 86140-04210. Looking on ebay there are Panasonic head units with a higher number so I'm thinking that they are newer. My microphone doesn't work for calls, cluster shows nothing on the nav page, my clock on head unit are just dashes, and no nav working on head unit.

My question is what is the harness part number that goes to the usb port and what is the correct headunit part number. I want everything to work like. Could someone just easily pull thier head unit and give me the PN that you have if you have 360 degree camera and nav.

Even though Toyota parts ordering does have very specific pictures of these harnesses, I went ahead and order part 86842-06010, "Tuner Harness" $85, Turns out it is the jumper between the nav and headunit. Yay! Now I have a clock and navigation. I have a 2019 Camry so I pulled it's radio and plugged in the Tacoma's radio and got Android Auto to work. I tried before when the clock and nav weren't working and would get an Android security and encryption check failure because the time was out of sync. Now that I think about it, I tried the microphone while in the Camry and it worked. Updated the headunit firmware since I had a functioning USB. Could find any nav firmware or map update. Probably need Toyota's stupid connection service. Microphone still doesn't work in the Tacoma. I bet it's a cut wire somewhere from the previous aftermarket radio.

I can't for the life of me find the newer USB harness to the port. Even called salvage yards around me and they don't have that new of Toyotas. Got on AliExpress and found new to old Toyota usb adapters and a new to normal USB cable ($7 each) so I'll wait a month for them to show up and will probably splice the new Toyota usb to the hacked up cable that I got.

Also I discovered that the truck used to have the JBL sub in the back. The dealer threw in regular panels behind the back seats, I pulled them and found the factory amp dangling there, all plugged in. Now thinking about a the factory sub (found one in the local classifieds for $200) or put in an aftermarket JL Audio all in one sub. Will have to check wiring and gauge size going to the factory amp.
