Used trucks from up north...

Hola. I'm looking for a 2nd gen DCLB to replace my '89 FJ62 (or maybe just add to the herd). In looking around at 2011-2013 models, I've seen better availability and pricing up north (Chicago, Philly, Boston) than down here in Texas. Any reason to believe those trucks would be a worse bet due to the snow/salt? Or is there another reason you know of? I bought a '79 scout out of Denver with no issues, seems like a 3 year old truck would not be in danger of too much rust.

 

The frame might be rusted but other than that no issues. If you are looking to buy just check frame integrity.

 

There is a reason they are cheaper up there in the salt belt....

 

Just check the frame. Im a northerner with a northern truck and the frame is clean. And i protect it with krown.

 

What'cha lookin at spending?

 

Been looking at 4wd trucks between 25-27, thinking that's a starting point for admittedly limited negotiation opportunities.
