    I have a 21 Tacoma TRD sport premium 4x4.

My key is the FCC ID: HYQ14FBB "G-Board"

I misplaced a key fob and was worried about not having a backup key fob. I could not find any information whether I would be able to program it myself with my XTOOL D7 so wanted to share my experience.

I bought an OEM "unlocked" key fob on eBay for about $90. Came with an aftermarket key blank. If you buy a used/locked key fob I understand that you you need to program via the "all keys lost" function and I didn't want to experiment with that function so I paid a little more for an unlocked key.

I was able to add the new key via the "add key" function and also I was able to remove my lost key with the "remove key" function.

I plan on buying another key fob soon so I'll try to record it and post to YouTube.

The XTOOL D7 has other functions but I didn't want to experiment too much. Hope this helps someone.
