    The first Toyota built for production was in 1935, it was called the G1 & was available only in Japan. In 1951 Toyota uses left over parts from U.S. Gov. truck contract to make the 1st 4x4 called BJ 4WD lightweight vehicle, it came with a ( get this!) 3.4 liter in-line 6 cyl. (the first 3.4 I guess). It was later renamed "Land Cruiser" in 1954. Jumping ahead a little, in 1979 Toyota releases into production for export the first 4x4 pickup. In 1984 the 4Runner comes to being, the first Toyota I had was a 1975 CelicaI bought used for 700.00 which was finally retired after I myself put on about 230K, (it had over 100K when I got it, so it would be safe to say that this car easily had over 300K on it & all I ever had to buy was an igniter that went out 20R engine)...:cool:
