That’s not really an upgrade. But I’m interested, why do you feel that way?

What’s better than 5100’s that’s in the same price range that can provide lift?

EDIT: Your profile says you have a very 1st gen Tacoma, and also have 5100’s up front. Hating on your own truck eh?

cause I'm not personally spending 33k+ on a vehicle, then effin spray paint on it, sorry. If I dis-liked the grille, I would replace it for a few hundred on a 30k vehicle.

Bull bar is a ascetics only accessory. It’s useless against any type of impact.

It’s not meant for impact... it’s meant to open cattle gates or push cows out of the way... if you have a cow or bull in the middle of the road, it ain’t moving no matter how hard you press your horn.

Gotcha. Why hate on it though? Some people like myself are happy with a plasti dipped grille that has no real use, and save a couple hundred dollars for a useful upgrade like armor or better suspension. Just my .02.

Well, since ya'll are listing things about the mods of others (not what was asked for) I'll just jump back in and go with the hood scoop options.

#1 If it's already on the best truck you can find that meets your need, no points lost. It's a minor annoyance compared to a good overall value package.

#2 If you have a fully functional scoop, with say an inner cooler laying right under it like on the boosted Hilux, triple your bonus points.

#3 If you swapped a scoop hood from answer #1 to someone else for a regular hood, and either came out even or made $, +++ points.

#4 If you added a scoop via buy/swap/paint/prepainted and netted $0 cost, minor point loss.

#5 If you added a scoop via buy/swap/paint (and it cost $$, not just an even swap) --points.

#6 If you added LED lighting in the faux opening of an existing scoop, --- points.

#7 If you got your scoop via #5 and then went to #6, :p

Yea, now that I've likely twisted up someones bloomers, I'll apologize. Seriously.

If you like the scoop, good for you. I won't laugh at your faux scoop in public if you don't laugh at my 5 nuts (lug nuts you tramp). :hattip:

The black plastic wheelskins that I put on the SR utility I used to have. I just hated the look of the steelies that much. Still not sorry, though lol99908FED-1DB3-4E2F-BBCE-062066DFC5AF.jpg

Well, I’ve only had mine for about 3k miles and I think they ride greet. I don’t have them maxed out so that may have been your issue. Of course if you push anything to limits it’s not going to be happy. Just thought I’d ask!
