Agreed this is strange, but maybe try putting some more weight in the bed? Sounds like you’re breaking traction, not lacking power. Is the concrete driveway slick?

If it’s a manual, second gear will not work up that hill 100%.

It's on my short list when I get ready to move out of where we're at. Maneuvering a trailer in reverse seems like it will be painful without it.

I think what’s happening is the TC is kicking in and cutting of the power to the rear wheels.

Try long press on the TC button before you get moving, I think TC is messing with you.

My 200ft driveway is steeper than that and I don't have a problem. Except in snow its no go.

Is your truck a manual? If so then I could understand wanting to use 4lo to pull straight ahead a few feet to avoid slipping the clutch every time you leave your driveway.

If auto then...none of this makes any sense

Yep, if you tow anything with a MT taco, it’s a must IMHO.

Could just try to feather the throttle? Note the rpms if it works and keep that rpm when coming up.

So I have done feathering and it jerks a bit before giving out. I dont have a lot of space in the rear either so if it slips, I run into the garage

4lo with the locker engaged seems like the only option here
