Hm interesting. My bet is that the TC is screwing with you. Try turning it off completely, long press of the button.

Yeh seems like 4hi is your best bet or some way to create more surface friction for tire grab.

here's the solution...install a horse hitching post across the street, winch to that every time he has to leave

Hope no one drives down the street while this is happening

There's an electric pole, think that'll do?

Have a concrete guy come out maybe he can cut traction groves in a small area.

I looked at my manual (2nd gen) on this back when i got it. It only locks out higher gears, doesn't start you in 2nd. My old Chevy it would lock into 2nd gear for better starts on ice and stuff (specifically noted in owners manual).

Wont look great but at least it will get you out of the driveway.

If the driveway is literally that slick, it would have to be a safety hazard for anyone getting in and out of the truck that isn't fully prepared.
You're there long term... Spend a $100 bucks, texture the driveway and be done with it..

If your driveway is that slick, stop thinking about what to do to the truck and think about what to do to the driveway.
You need to either add a grip coat to the driveway, or get the driveway grooved.

I've had great luck with this stuff. Painted interior of my sisters trailer with it, as well as the deck of my car trailer. It's held up pretty well, and gives AWESOME traction.

Are the tires new? Do other cars slip as well? If tires are brand new they might be a little gripper after some wear

Why would I read before I type?
Besides, if enough people beat it into the OPs mind, maybe that will be the route taken.
