    Hi all,

So I'm planning my truck bed camper build and am trying to tackle getting a power source for charging my phone/tablet/lap top & running small electronics in the bed of the truck when it's off.

The two battery + inverter system is too advanced for what I'll be doing. I think I'd like to stay around 75-100 bucks for this part of the build.

I was thinking about getting a rechargeable camping / worksite type of battery pack (most have air compressors/jump starters) and plugging it into the AC outlet in the bed then just turning the outlet on when I'm driving around to keep it charged and pull power from it at night to charge my small electronics.

Would something like this be my best bet? image.jpg

Or is there some kind of battery pack with outlets that would be better suited? I really don't need the jump starter and air compressor as my only intention is to charge phone/tablet/computer.

Sorry for the dumb question, I don't know anything about inverters/power supplies.

Thanks in advance for any ideas, product recommendations.

There are solar recharging options out there that might work for ya too. Just something you might want to check into. I've met a lot of campers who use them.

I have the XP-1 and it works as advertised. Its nice to know that when I am in the middle of nowhere I can jump start a dead battery. This thread is a good reminder, I should go get it out of the truck right now and top off the charge.

I have the XP-10, comes in a nice case to easily transfer to whatever vehicle I'm driving. It will start/power anything I have. I drive to remote jobsites every day where a dead battery would be time consuming and expensive to deal with. I've started other people's trucks with it flawlessly. Peace of mind knowing it's there. If you get one, spend the money and get at least 18 amp-hour, enough to start anything short of a D9 Cat.
It's over 4 years old now, topped it off twice, only after starting a car, 2 trucks, and my big mower a couple times. I don't keep it in a vehicle subject to heat/cold extremes like most people. That will kill any battery. I keep it in a garage, about 50 deg., just pick it up as I leave for the day. Worth every penny.
