    Hello community,
Is it fine for my Tacoma if I use different oil brands every time I change my oil ? Last one I used was Valvoline, before that was Castrol, and before that was Mobil. But I always use OEM Toyota oil
Filter. Thanks I have 2nd gen 4 cylinder Tacoma .

    oh boy, here we go

Everyone is going to tell you the brand, method, and intervals they use are the best.
In short; changing your oil often with name brand filters and oil,,,, are the best.

Seems to have worked out fine for you over the past 16 years :notsure:
Not a good idea as the additives may not be compatible. In fact, mixing synthetic and dino oil from the same mfr is better than mixing synthetic from different mfrs: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/t...chapters-inclusive-copy-and-save-this.136052/

Idk, about that one, in a 2 stroke mixing some oils, with fuels like methanol can have a crazy effect, or using a pure caster mixed with some oils. In general all synthetics, and semi synthetics motor oil will mix fine with any dino oil.

Why all these questions about motor oil? I’ve never seen the same questions about antifreeze or power steering fluid.

If it’s unnecessary, don’t do it.

Here’s what I do, buy 2 five quarts of Mobile 1 and then use one of them for 1 quart each time. That way I’m just buying a 5 quart for at least 3 oil changes and using the leftover I already have.

I have used Supertech full synthetic for year's , also put it in my Yamaha Apex that went on to run almost 50k miles until the chassis gave up the ghost.

really because oil is the most commonly changed fluid.
