    Too much.
You wont be able to utilize the existing mic, but you can utilize the space that the OEM mic sits iin. The OEM mic unclips from the wire harness and can be removed. Wire your Sony mic from the dash, up the A pillar and over to the mic location (is it in the overhead console in a 2nd gen?). That's what I did. Then I put a little hot glue in there to keep it from moving around/rattling.

I'm intrigued by this. I am going to keep an eye out for it to be sold somewhere I would buy it from and I might give it a shot. Not that I mind my microphone now, but I really want to check this out.

I always try this at first but nobody can ever hear me (have tried in a few cars with the same result). I usually end up using the included mic from the new hu and stick it somewhere beind my rear-view mirror so it's out of the way. Have had much better luck doing that.

Haven't seen that Maestro adapter yet, but the rest of their product usually work great.
