Just wondering if anyone swapped their high mounted bed light LEDs with something brighter or even a different color or if it is even possible. Would be kind of nice to be able to use this as a kind of chase light on the trails.

Are you talking third brake light over the cab?
I think the double cab models are LEDs and don’t have “sockets” like old school bulbs, you can easily swap.

there aren't any swaps as the entire housing is an integrated assembly.

but meso makes a replacement using kc lights rings, morimoto makes an alternative, as well as an Amazon model. the meso/kc light modules are going to be the brightest pre-built option.

outside of that, you're into full-custom territory with a chase lightbar or similar.

I actually saw a thread the other day where someone was selling one that could take some super bright off road pod or bulb from dd or one of the popular brands I can’t remember. I remember him being very clear it was “for off road use only”. I would probably tuck the factory wires and make my own circuit and switch for that cause I definitely wouldn’t want it on every time I hit the brakes. It wasn’t pre built though you had to get the lights for it yourself. Also not sure if he can or would make more.
