Will he even need to swap the valve cover? Looks like removing the air injection valves, exhaust header, and associated plumbing, may be all that's needed. Not sure but I think the air injection valves mount to the valve cover, and if no openings are left , I would leave the existing valve cover on if I could. ???

Was it burning oil? Is it possible that the oil pump failed?

Not common, but I’ve heard of it happening on the 1gr-fe a few times.

Are you installing a new clutch and release bearing assembly while you are in there ? Are you going to be machining the flywheel ?

-Use the wiring harness in the 2007.
-Remove Valves for the AIP and the exhaust header off the 2013 engine. (The thing you are pointing at..)
-Swap over exhaust header from 2007 engine to 'new' engine.
-OPTIONAL, swap over left side engine valve cover from 2007 engine to 2013 engine. The valve covers are slightly different. The cover on the 2013 engine has mounting points for the AIP valves.

    ALSO:

    - I would remove spark plugs and crank engine over. Probably should replace spark plugs while you're in there.
    - Replace valve cover gaskets while 'new' engine is not in truck..
    - Change oil before starting 'new' engine.

Sorry for being so late to respond., bit my truck is up and running just fine.the thimg i was pointing at on the 2013 motor was removed, and the additional plumbing going into the blck was cut off and welded shut.used the 2007 wiring harness and everything seems to be running just fine.thanks for all the advice and help guys.
