I had an Audi S4 i used an oil extractor on because the filter was located in the engine bay, so it naturally made sense to avoid jacking it and just doing oil changes that way. It was much more convenient, cleaner, the dip stick reached the bottom of the oil pan. However, on these engines, it makes no sense because you gotta get under there to change the filter anyways!

Exactly. I miss my Gen2 oil changes with my extractor. Could do them dressed in white with no gloves (not that I did, I don't own white stuff) and not even have to wash your hands after. Now I'm on my back with stuff splashing all over the damn driveway.

Your doing real good old fart, And I mean that. Took me 2 hours to do my 20,000 mile inspection which included, oil filter and oil change, last Friday. Took my time. Installed a fumoto valve which I'm pretty apprehension about but ill give it a try, can always just install the plug. My problem is I have to jack my truck up put it on jack stands makes getting to the oil filter so much more easier. I have the TRD Pro skid plate, and the oil filter access opening can be challenging if I don't jack it up. Now the Fumoto will allow me to drain right into my 5gal oil collection container, jacking, down jacking, clean up, and putting everything away is what takes time. Oh yeah I purchased the Motive bona fide funnel for the Toyota engine and bar non it is nice. Been using traditional funnel but this is the Top shelf of funnels, I recommend treat yourself you might like it. Oh yeah I'm 67 years young myself.

I need to buy a better extractor, the one I use on my boat sucks. Takes a billion pumps it seems like, its manual, made by Quicksilver, mercurys brand. Prob realistically about 200 pumps. I hope the extractor you have is better than mine. I'm going to follow just to see how much oil your extractor extracts...And how much you have to put back in.

I drove mine on 3" ramps to fit the jack.

And my kids were already 30+ :D

Easily created if you're willing to bear the expense of lab tests over several cycles.

I actually know a tribologist who made this effort (free for him of course) and he found that there was no problem with his test vehicle and oil to be pushing 3 years between changes on a low mile situation.

Folk here will poo-poo this and I understand why. But if you really want the truth, testing is the only way to get there.
