    I bought an APEX universal ladder rack that has an extension over the cab and I put that on & off when I haul long items, it is great and it was rather inexpensive at 275.

    When I've done 8 ft or 12 ft sheets I've gotten a sheet of 8 or 12 ft plywood and used it along with boards across etc and been fairly lucky/successful not breaking i
