Amphibious Assault Ship, Wasp Class. After burning for five days, the Navy reported the fire has been put out. Sixty two people were treated for injuries. Prayers go out to all.

Not sure this is gonna be salvageable. Multiple burn holes straight through the flight deck.

Wow. Those are some MASSIVE holes. But honestly anything can be repaired if man made it. Just how much is it gonna cost.

Honestly I wouldn't be suprised if they scrapped it and got another pumped out real quick.

Some Naval Maritime experts are saying that might be the case. With temperatures that high, steel bends like a potato chip. Just hope it doesn't reach the one million gallons of fuel on board. Another one will come out of the newer America Class at 3.4 + billon a pop, this one was around 761 million (in 1998 Dollars) before it's latest two year long retrofit that cost 250 million.

A recent update, 8/26: According to KGTV 10 News San Diego, citing a anonymous source, Naval Criminal Investigative Service have idenified a Naval Sailor who may have set the fire intentionaly. A Search Warrant has been executed on the Sailors home. Naval Officials will not comment on the investigation. With 11 of 14 decks burned, Naval Officials say it remains to be seen if it can be restored. Replacement cost: $4 Billion dollars.
