Any interest in a TW meet at the World of Speed races on the Bonneville salt flats? September 14-17, 2011.

I don't know of any four wheeling in the area so this would most likely just be a get together and hang out meet.

So, I went up to Forest Lake today, and well, I dont think we're going to have a meet to take that trail up. The spring runoff has made the trail about the same scale as Mineral Basin. Maybe a few slightly smaller rocks in some places, but I dont think its a trail to be taken with out armor any longer, unless you're on 35's. Still, the toughest part is the beginning, but even on taking the bypass the whole rest of the trail is really rough.

The lake is pretty much completely full. For those that have been up there before, if you remember the markers that used to be in the middle of no where saying no motor vehicles, well, there's now water right up to them so they look like they belong.

And, oh the flies... hundreds of them at the lake...

 

Sorry I missed it. Here is a picture of the lake the last time I was up there.

 

Cool. That dirt road that kinda goes around the lake; thats still there, but serves more as the border of the lake now.

 

So, Jason, how about another camping trip up by Francis Peak/Smith Lakes? No idea if its actually open, but only one way to find out. I think we can still get up there from the Bountiful side, as long as we dont try from Farmington and across Skyline.

 

Count me in. It will give me another chance to build a two story fire.

When are you thinking?

 

27th would probably be the best so everyone can get off work if needed. Not sure if we want to do another Friday/Saturday, or move it up to Saturday/Sunday. Either works good for me. Not really many trails up that way, besides the main trail there, but we can always explore some.

 

I have a family campout the weekend of the 27th but I'm available next weeked 19/20 if you want to go up. Why wait right. I know of a few trails we can play around on.

Anybody else interesed in a campout Aug. 19/20.

I'm trying to work out my schedule, are you open to 20/21. We can play Saturday afternoon and camp Saturday night.

 

Some family from Texas is coming that weekend, 27th is better, but anything planned for Sept?
