Hey everyone. Just found out I got accepted for a job out at Hill AFB so I'll be headed that way in about a month or so. Not sure where we're going to live yet but we're stoked about the move to Utah. If anyone has insight on the better places to live within a half hour of the base, I'd really appreciate it! Hope to be able to meet up with y'all for a mod day, trail run or whatever once we get there.

Welcome to Utah and congrats on the assignment! I know a lot of folks who work at the base live in the Layton area.

You will love recreating in the wasatch mountains. Good luck with the move!

Thanks! Yeah, I've heard pretty good things about Layton, too. Definitely looking forward to all the outdoor rec in the area, especially the snowboarding and off-roading.

I live in Syracuse (just west of Layton) and maybe 10 min from the base. Syracuse is a great place. Congrats on the job and here's an early welcome to Utah.

Been lurking about TW for some time now, first time post though.

A rather unfortunate encounter with free-range cows has put in the market for a new/better bumper. In an effort to save on lead times I'm considering a DIY option and finding a local welder. So this is a feeler post for referrals to a guy who lays a clean bead and takes pride in his work. A reasonable travel radius is 45 min-ish from Orem.

Thanks in advance. When I grow up I hope to have knowledge to contribute to the forum.

I believe that is an indicator that its "stuck". The 4x4 low light will do that when its set to engage but cant because you're still moving.

Locker is not engaging. Solenoid is working to trigger the light but something is stuck and not letting the locker engage. The light will stop flashing once it engages.

Box Rocket is right. When I bought mine that's what the light did and I thought it was engaged, till i got one tire off the ground and quickly discovered that it was not engaging. After I tore into the e-locker it turns out it was seized up. A liberal amount of wd-40 and some time i got it to free up and works great now! It was a bit tricky getting it back on though. There were a couple really great write ups on here that were very helpful. Probably had seized from the previous owner never having used it.

Btw you were in 4lo right? Unless you've done the grey wire mod it won't be able to engage in anything but 4 lo.

Anyone have a good recomendation of a local SLC/Provo area to get a lift installed?

Also, what is a better lift, the OME Nitro and 885 or Bilstein 5100 and eibach?
