That's because Mineral is on the south-facing side of the canyon. Forest Lake is on the north-facing side.

What's up Utah folks. I'm new to the TACO world. I just bought a 2014 DCSB in Spruce Mica. I F***ing Love it! I think it's the only one in the state. I haven't seen another Spruce around yet. It really is a killer color. I just wanted to say hi. I'm looking for some good trails and new friends to rally with. I live in SLC. Any good tips on where to go for good camping and 4x4ing? I was up AF cyn on Monday. This weekend maybe Mirror lake. I'm really trying to find new places to explore.

It is a bit further north but the Left Hand Fork Area Between Blacksmiths Fork Canyon and Logan Canyon is really fun if you ever get up that way. Congrats on the new truck.

As did I in 1993 on a brand new Hilux. Loved it - both the trick and the color.

And BTW, welcome KJ2014. New to the area, I presume?

I need to do my steering rack as well haha. That and my inner tie rods, possibly the ball joints in my UCAs... It never ends. Let me know how it goes when you do it! Any tips would be appreciated.

Steering rack replacement isn't a hard job. Little time is all. It's definitely a good time to change LBJ's as well if they need replacing.

Not new to Utah, I finally got a vehicle that I can go off road with. I am trying to find sweet new spots to explore. As far as mods, I'm really not to sure. I only have 2500 miles on it and as of now I'm saving for a Leer shell. Down the road I'll be getting new tires, and maybe a bull bar with lights. I'm open to any suggestions.

Personally, I would get a small lift around 3 inches, especially if you plan to go offroad with it, and if you go wheeling with certain people, you'll need that extra clearance. I love the look of bull bars but I wouldn't get one. In my experience, they take the brute of the force but bend in and damage the bumper. I would pay a little extra and get an arb style bumper or something similar. Explore your options before you finalize on the shell. There are other alternatives such as the Allpro pack rat metal cage w/ cover which are sick. I would just dig around this forum as much as possible, look at peoples builds, and decide what you really want before you start spending money.

Also, what do you plan on using it for? Rock crawling? a little more overland fast stuff? A mix? Or just light dabble in each? That will definitely effect what you want to do with mods.

    Where in Utah are you?

I live downtown. Near the park.. I'm not trying to do anything to beat it up too much for awhile. I'll probably just dabble for now. But, I want to get up in the hills for sure and find some sick roads to explore. i will explore the site and think about what to do as of mods. Where are you?
