Got rear-ended on the freeway on the way to work this morning. The truck held up surprisingly well considering how hard the hit felt. Have some damage to the hitch, trailer plug/harness, plastic components of the bumper and the bumper itself. I will have to try to get a picture later...I have one on my phone, but it doesn't really show the damage very well.

Depending on what their insurance is willing to pay out, I have my eyes on one of these.

Does anyone want the aluminum bumper reinforcement or plastic lower/center portion of the bumper cover from a 2nd Gen Tacoma? I installed a US OffRoad winch mount and have these things laying around.

Free, I'd just like to get them out of my garage.

I'll take it, my center piece is scratched up om my 14'. Want to do a hidden winch behind the factory bumper, having a spare in case I EFF it up would be good too. I am in the Salt Lake Valley pretty flexible time wise because I am off work recovering from broken ankle.

I agree, look at the changes and recalls from 05'-10'. Love my 14' If I totaled it I would buy another low mileage 12'-15' Maybe find one with a shell already installed to get me ahead a little bit.

    Ok, you got it.

Weekdays are tough for me, but the weekend is right around the corner. Regardless, I won't toss it and we'll figure it out.

Finally got the ball rolling with my insurance as I haven't heard a word from the other guys. Took the truck in for an estimate this morning...came out at nearly $2400, and they have to put it on the rack and see if the frame is bent.

After thinking about an aftermarket plate bumper for the past week, I decided against it and am just having them repair it with a OEM chrome bumper and factory hitch.

@zscott - My diagnosis was correct...your sway bar end links have been put to good use! My driver's side was toast. The link that attached to the sway bar itself had a ton of play and was shot. Clunk has been cured!!! Thanks again!!!

I've got a bug deflector that came off my 2005 DCSB up for grabs. Free or you can throw in a pipeline punch Monster energy drink to sweeten the deal.

Dropped my truck off at Unique Auto today to get the damage repaired from my accident. Decided against a plate rear bumper and am having it repaired with the OEM parts. They will have it all week, so I am rolling in a rental 2016 Elantra.
