I did this trail starting from the east. I made it through in about 8hrs because 50% of it was in the dark and no sights to see :-/. If we had more day light I wouldn't have tried to get out as fast. It is rated at taking 12 hrs to complete by vehicle and I believe this because the view is beautiful and the road is rough. Not too rocky but bumpy, lots of dips. The toughest part is the switch backs near the west entrance/exit of the trail. Expect to not leave first gear for 90% of the trail. My top speed was 20 but average was between 5-7 (I have a manual trans)You can do this in a stock vehicle, this trail requires 4x4 with Low range. The switchbacks are pretty steep. Remember to use LO range when decending as well as going up. I will return to conquer this trail again but next time I will camp. What specific questions do you have?

Ya, Expedition Utah is a great forum with a ton of trip reports. Another good resource is Backcountrypost.com, good trip reports and info there as well.

Anyone had experience with Rocky Road Outfitters in Heber? Or run their rock sliders? Looking at getting some this summer and be great to go local if possible. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

I don't have any experience with them but have been curious as well. Keep us updated on what you find out. I may give them a call tommorrow to ask a clouple questions myself. Their website is not very good. I hope their products are better.

I don't have any personal experience with them. I've heard enough horror stories to make me question them though. I'm sure I'd never use them.

Yes, I am always suspect of anyone who has a website as bad as that. Late 90's called, they want their website back! :rofl:Definitely let me know if you have a chance to talk to them, appreciate any feedback. I'll do the same..

Hmm, not good!! I do appreciate the info, very helpful. Again, want to make sure my investment is sound and with a reputable outfit. This doesn't sound very promising..

Looking at sliders.. I've researched a ton on here and seen most the options available, trying to find the best options for the best budget. Going with a local company is always my preference where possible, but definitely quality and overall experience trumps all. So was curious about their slider options and what people's experience has been with them overall.

ive only had indirect experience with them through a good buddy. Delivery time was pushed back several times, week+ each time on a suspension order. I looked into their sliders and was a bit put off by having to attach them both the frame and the cab pinch weld. There have been some review on here about how that is not the best design due to independent frame and cab movement. I ended up going with Stubbs Welding SKO sliders and have been very happy with them. BAMF make a killer product as well as Pelfrybilt, Relentless and a bunch of others. I hate to write a negative review, but if you intend on using the sliders for their designed intent, I would look elsewhere.

Thanks for the info Zach, exactly what I was looking for. Ya, doesn't sound good having sliders attached to both the frame & cab. I've looked at all those other options, and, again was just curious about the local guys. But I'm sold on not going with those. Have a DCLB, and looking to get bolt on not weld, and not all those guys have that option. I did also look at Stubbs, glad to hear they are working out. I'll keep looking. Thanks!!!

Hey Utah dudes, I just started an internship at the dealership I work at doing our social media advertising. I'm pretty stoked for what it can become, but I've got a long ways to go! I'm trying to work out a future meet as well, where we bring bbq! Apparently it's been done in the past, and I want to organize another one. I work at Mark Miller Toyota, so if you're into that social media nonsense, give me a follow on Instagram, and like our Facebook page. There will be future incentives for doing so, I assure you. Thanks friends! Sorry for the long post. Back to your Tacoma goodness.

You won't find anything "local". When I was looking I reached out to Cruiser's and Kurt could only get me Slee's at more than $1k, plus they would have charged me to weld them on.

The closest place to local is Relentless in Reno, NV.

If you can wait until the holidays, they all run killer deals for Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc. I got my BAMF Bolt on's for $360+shipping ($150, and picked them up will call at Conway). Then had them powdered coated locally ($160). If I had to do it again. I would have just had Jerry PC them on the sale. I would have saved about $50 over what I paid had I done it that way.

Great feedback, much appreciated. Ya I've seen the Relentless Fab options, and definitely BAMF is high on the list. Will keep an eye out and prbly will just wait until the holiday deals. Good info. Thanks!
