Greetings Utah Taco drivers! My wife and I are flying out to SLC at the end of September. Going to do a little gambling in Wendover and then check out the salt flats. Afterward going to stay a few days in SLC (Jordan area) and maybe take a ride to Snowbird. Any things we should also checkout while in the area? Favorite things to do or places to eat? Thanks for any info.

If you are into the pub scene or just want a good burger, you gotta check out Lucky 13. They have some of the best burgers around and were featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

You can also drive to the south end of the valley near me, and with a pair of binoculars watch the largest open pin mine from the road! (Kennecott Copper Mine)

I'll be staying just down the road from Lucky 13, so you know I'll check it out. Thanks! Also will try and find the Mine.

    • Ride the Snowbird Tram to the top
    • Go to Temple Square and see the headquarters of the Mormon church.
    • Go out to Antelope Island and see the bison and good views of the great salt lake. 1 hour
    • Drive up to Promontory point and see where the transcontinental rail road was finished. 1 1/2 hours
Restaurants I like: Red Iguana (mexican)

Hey UT folks... I'm at a cabin in the Sundance area (Provo Canyon-North Fork) until Wednesday and wondering if anyone has some recommendations for medium difficulty off road trails to check out in that area. Don't want rock crawling, just some decent fire roads with cool scenery. Any recommendations are appreciated. Thx.

Head up American fork canyon, pretty close to you. Lots of trails up there.

Eagle Mountain has some fun looking areas. I always see them when I am on my mtb, and think about taking my truck up there.

5 mile pass has some cool old mines and stuff around it. You could check that out as well.

So I'm moving to Cache Valley end of the month. I'm coming from SoCal where there's usually monthly meets and somebody hitting trails just about every weekend. I try to hit a trail at least once a month, twice if I'm able. What's the Tacoma/Off-road community like up there?

The job is in Logan, but not sure where we'll live. I'll have a couple months up there without the wife and kids to figure that out.

Really nice area. The farther away from actual town you live, the less you'll have to deal with the pollution trapped by the winter inversions. It can get pretty bad a handful of days each winter.

Haven't spent much time in Logan since I've only been up there two or three times for work. But make sure you hit up Paco's Tacos (in Logan) and Maddox Steak House (in Brigham City) for some awesome food

Hmm, good to know. I remember inversion in the SLC valley and how bad it sometimes got, wasn't sure if it got as bad up in Cache Valley.
