Still waiting for snow pack to clear out. Last May it there were still too much snow to get over the pass. There is Cub River that is just over the boarder in Idaho. This starts you in a good trail system that will take you up and over (West to East) and drop you into Fish Haven, ID (Bear Lake). shouldn't take more than 3 hours. very easy. 2wd friendly (no snow and no mud). In the last spring it is very muddy and shouldn't gone alone if you are 2wd. 4wd you'll be fine. Nothing crazy. Incredibly scenic.

There is always year round wheeling down in southern/central Utah. Just have to make a weekend of it. It's a good 4 hour drive from where you are at. I'm going to be taking about 2 weeks off of work around Memorial day and trying to get up to my cabin. It has still been snowed in. My dad and his boss took their side by sides and made it to the gate last weekend. Also going to go hit up 5 mile pass for a day. This would be about a 2.5 hour drive for you. Going to see if I can conquer Eagles Nest and constrictor. -----> https://youtu.be/x1YGhcnke4Y

do you have lockers yet? lol

    No :(

Cub River looks cool, I'll check it out next month.

Let me know when it gets close, I'll take some time off and come down.

Has anyone been to Great Basin recently? I'm going next weekend. Wanted to check out Lexington Arch Road and the NPS website makes it sound pretty gnarly. Just wanted to get some opinions if anyone has been.

Where is the trail head for Cub River? I live in the Logan area but have been down in the St. George area for work here the last few months. I found a few decent trails down there. 82703D80-E4E9-496C-BE81-D84C6B6AA20C.jpg

I'm gonna be taking my SDHQ hidden winch mount off my 3rd gen in the next couple weeks when I get my new CBI bumpers put on and will be putting it up for sale.

    Photos from install:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/2017-double-cab-long-bed-offroad-build.450938/#post-13870817

    SDHQ site:
    http://sdhqoffroad.com/16-current-tacoma-sdhq-built-stock-bumper-winch-mount/

Most likely I will need to re-use the winch control box relo kit but I will be including the lower bumper cover already cut for the fairlead.

Condition is pretty much new and I have never actually used the winch but it has been on my truck for about 1.5 years. I'll be posting an official for-sale thread when I get it pulled off and obviously don't want to ship it.

Does anyone know of or have any recommendations for buying quality sliders in Utah? Looking to buy a set and install some bolt-ons. Would love to keep my business local to Utah if that's possible.
If not, internet sleuthing, here I come!

I know a few that can do great weld ons, but not bolt-ons.

Hmmm...I think weld-ons would be overkill for me. Basic trail armor for doing some off-roading every so often is my use-case. haha.

First trip down to Moab in the new truck over the weekend.
Did some moderate trails- Gemini and Shiffer- most fun I've ever had behind the wheel of a car.
Now I want to get some sliders and a rack!
Let the fun begin- living in SLC, I'll be in Moab basically every other weekend over the summer.
    Cheers!

I feel ya. I went with bolt-ons, but from Mobtown. Not UT local, but I grew up in the DMV area so kinda ex-local...

Not cheap, but super simple to bolt on with a friend after work. I got them because of a free powdercoat special he ran. Burly things with not a millimeter of play either.

Can't say they have seen rocks, but they have absolutely wrecked a Camry door when the driver decided to be a careless dumbass in my apt parking area.

If you are local between Midvale and Orem/Provo, you can come check them out if you want.

I personally have RCI sliders (they're located in Colorado)
But I've made a few trips to CBI in Idaho falls and they make good sliders as well.

I got @RelentlessFab bolt-ons and love them. They’re in Reno area. I just made a weekend trip out of it instead of shipping. (I was living in Yosemite at the time).

There’s some local fabricators on UTOR Facebook page that do sliders and bed racks

Why are you shying away from weld ons, if I might ask? I have weld on Demellos and put bolt ons on my previous Tacoma. It’s really about 6s, takes about the same amount of time to install / uninstall either way, and the brackets to adapt for bolt ons cost about as much as having someone weld them.

I wanted the ability to take them off on my own and not have to weld to my frame. The crazy in me doesn't like the idea of welding onto it. Let alone having to weld. From my understanding, I wouldn't need weld-ons mostly because I'm not trying to go rock crawling or do anything super serious off road. Just some occasional offroading to get to viewpoints and camping spots and bolt-ons seemed to be better bang for buck choice in that regard.
