Just wondering if any of you guys have driven out to the Newfoundland Mountains, specifically via the Northern route by the Golden Spike. I'm wanting to do a trip out that direction and looking for a bit of intel.

I went out a couple of weeks ago. I took the causway off the 80. I too have wanted to go out via the golden spike. I see routes on maps, I just need to find some time.

Sundance Super D today. I felt pretty good about my run except for the part where I nailed my bars on a set of narrow trees. Came in 8th for my cat/age today.

Mostly trying to decipher that jumbled route of trails/roads that appear on the benchmark atlases for the hogups and Newfoundlands. Also approximately how long it would take to drive there from the golden spike visitor center.

I don' have a benchmark but it takes about 2 hours to get to Lucin from the visitor center using the old railroad grade, so I'd guess an hour to Hogup.

Its a nice graded road. There are some offshoot trails to camp on the Wolverine Loop road. Bring Lots of Water for this time of year.

This was and is the best looking Tacoma I have ever seen come through our dealership. (Mark Miller Toyota) My team install the paint protection film, and my installer couldn't stop gawking over it haha.

Grew up in that area! Love it!

Been thinking to plan a trip up that way and go from Logan Canyon to Mink Creek.

Just outside Preston Idaho (North East). It connects up to Franklin Basin Rd.

So, where you were at Gibson instead of turning west to Gibson keep heading North on ID FR 406, you should hit Willow Flat CC and then head west to connect up with Cub River Rd. From there you can either go left down Cub River, or Right to Mink Creek (Map is calling it Birch Creek RD, but if you follow it all the way you end up at Mink Creek as I know it).
