I've got a 52" curved light bar for sale if anyone wants it. I'm moving soon and need to clean out the garage. It's a no-name brand but is brand new and don't want to ship it.

The days are quickly going away of running out west of Utah lake and shoot. I had a special spot for year down in a pit. I would pull a trailer of stuff to blow up and hit, spread out lots of blue tarps to catch shells, rake, shovel & pick up all our's and other's junk, and take home more junk than we brought. Someone else trashed the place up and the state bulldozed the pit flat and posted no shooting signs everywhere. If you do find a spot available on BLM land the environmentalist convinced the rest of the world that target shooting starts fires every time. It is banned alot. Here is a link but it's not always current. http://www.utahcounty.gov/Dept/Sheriff/Information/FAQs.asp

I like to go up hobble creek in springville. Good spot. I always take out loads of trash from there. People are pigs.

I usually go out west to the Delle exit off 80. It's pretty clean for the most part and hardly a soul around.

I always will fill up a few buckets of garbage whenever I go out too but I think it's impossible to keep places clean with how many people aren't respectful of the land.

    Got you down.

So far my plan is for us all to arrive around 6 pm. The reservation system there doesn't cover a group until they are 16+ people, so they told me to just call ahead and they'll get us situated, so I'd figure I tell them dining at 630 so we have some time to meet and greet and peruse each other's trucks, etc.

I feel much the same way. I had a spot not 15 mins from my place in Idaho that I could go shooting on. BLM land. It was always trashed and I even took part in a cleanup event with my wife and a bunch of other people. We went back a week later and it was trashed again. I can understand that sometimes you can't find all your brass cause your gun chucks it all over but seriously it sucks to see how much people just ruin everything. I appreciate your suggestions I will have to look at those places. There was an organized range up Provo canyon I was going to look into as well.

Hey guys I might be making a move to the Salt Lake City area in the next few months from Seattle. Any recommendations on where to move if I have a young family? I will be working at the airport so anything within decent driving distance?

    Thanks

There are loads of great places for young families not too far from the airport. I have some friends in the Foxboro neighborhood in North Salt Lake who like it a lot:

Fellow Seattle-ite transplant here. Where in Seattle area you coming from?

Good news about SLC is the traffic (so far) isn't nearly as bad as the Seattle morning chaos. Anywhere from Sandy to North Salt Lake City would be a reasonable commute for you. Also, the "bad" parts of the area are in line with the "better" parts of Seattle proper, so there isn't too much trouble. Petty theft is about the worst thing that is fairly frequent around here.
