I've been to Jim's before but never to Lorenzo's. Need to get back to Philly to do my own experiment. I'll bring my cholesterol and blood pressure meds.

This is the kind of place I have been looking for. Looks like radioshack on steroids.

Dude, I can't tell you how bummed I am that I can't come out and play with you on your baller trip. I was so stoked until work decided I don't get to have a personal life for a few weeks.

I went last year and the flats were a shallow lake. Looks like you had a great time on the flats and in town. The museum is really interesting, I can't wait till they finish the Enola Gay hanger.

The salt flats are a fickle area. Any moisture, and the vehicle bogs to the frame rails in seconds. Doesn't help that it has the consistency and properties of hardening cement too. Get it out quick, or its there forever.

I wouldn't say forever, that salt eats metal in a hurry. I was walking along the shore while taking photos and a few days later my shoes fell apart. I was warned the salt eats just about everything.

Sure does. And Wendover has exactly ONE self serve carwash that will fit built trucks like a lot of ours. Quarters only; Eats 1 in 10 religiously so you need to carry 11. Gives you 4 minutes. BUT...it has a leaky valve, so you can do a prerinse with the trickle coming out of the end for as long as you want.

The only thing that kept me from bouncing the station clerk's head off the counter with all the "F You" attitude she had our entire interaction, from making change outta bills to me later telling her the machines were broken. *glares at me* "I'm on the phone (personal call)"

LOL, yeah I was wondering if there was a carwash in town. Most of the racers were in the big casinos and they left hoses out back for them. We were staying at the Montego, and I may have rinsed our car a time or two.

Yeah, the casinos roll out the red carpet for those guys. I'm sure they get their money's worth from them overall though.

If you haven't been in Bolt & Nut Supply off of 72nd (by Midvale Mining Cafe) you have to go check it out when you're near there. It's a quirky shop run by quirky folks and they stock some cool knickknacks. Like the good rubber tie downs that are hard to find anymore.

The view is obviously top notch. Trail was rocky, hells revenge was a lot more fun of a trail but that view at the end makes up for it.

Any good dirt road trails in the slc area? I’ve been up bountiful and Farmington but was looking to do something different for a night run.

You could bomb out to the eagle mountain area and hit the pony express trail as far as you wished. Or there's a lot of good stuff in AF Canyon that is easy to do in the dark. If you wanted to go to Elberta, you could hit up the train tunnel in the dark.

If you want company, hit me up on FB messenger and I may be able to tag along.
