did he? I was wondering if any of the other trucks started to have issues as well. What was his IG again? He told me, I just forgot. He and I were the 2 that were really getting after it.

He always goes really hard through mud and puddles, i'm surprised he hasn't had more issues to be honest. It's utah_taco.

Is there a solutions or an idea on how to prevent your alternator and/or engine having issues after going through big ass muddy puddles like that?....

Don't go through them...and if you do, some have recommended hosing it down with WD40 to keep the schmoo out of the electrical bits in the alternator that don't like when they get water in them.

Are you just planning on replacing your alternator with a OEM new one?

It's actually getting a new aftermarket (BBB) one at the Big O next to my place as we speak.

I'd have liked to go get one and do it myself, but I am in a time crunch this week, and lack the space to do it, so I just had to suck it up and break out the checkbook. Honestly, it is only an hour of labor in the service book, and their supplied part is the same cost as the one I could have gotten at autozone, so I am really only out $100 in labor and don't have to try and replace it in my tiny apartment garage at night in the dark and cold after work, taking much longer than an hour.

Cool. Good to know that Big O Tires does more than just tires.

I mean they specialize in tires, but they do brakes, alignments, and more basic mechanical stuff as well. Most importantly, they were like 300 yards from my place, and with a dead alternator, and running on battery power only, that was about the extent of the distance I was willing to take it.

Location is a major deciding factor, it's a huge convenience.

The guys at the one in WJ on 7800 S. ad 3200 W. also have Yotas. Russ has a first gen taco that is pretty decked out.

I can also attest that my Maxtrax were worth their weight in gold this weekend at 5 mile. Got a couple trucks stuck quite a few times.
