I backed over one of mine on Hell’s Revenge (at the end after you get off the slick rock) and ripped it right off. Instead of spending $$ you can just trim your stock ones, worked great for me.

Here’s how it works on a 2nd gen, not sure about yours:

    not enough.
Not bad work at all. I'll get my flaps fixed sooner or later. It's on the list of allt he other stuff I want to do to the truck. I think suspension work is coming up next. I'm at 50k so might be a good time to start thinking about it.

Hey Fellas been lerkin around here for awhile. I've had a couple 3rd gen 4Runners then a Prius (don't want to talk about it) and now I'm in a 3rd gen Tacoma. Heading down south this weekend for some sunshine and camping. Anyone ever camped on Sheep Bridge Road near La Verkin? Any other recommends near St George, Hurricane area that a stock suspension Taco and a Tundra pulling a Mean Bean can get into? Will also be looking to do some Mountain biking. TIA!

Hey guys, Wife wants to go to Capitol Reef Resort for her 40th in Sept so looking at a 3-4 day road trip up from Phoenix. Looking for ideas for stuff we should not miss on the way up. We'll probably leave PHX after work on a Thursday and overnight in Flag to save a couple hours of driving and give us more time to explore a bit on the way up via Monument valley. On the way home I was thinking about coming home through Kanab and Page since it is about the same mileage.

So far couple obvious things on the way up or once we're there

    1: Monument Valley
    2: Cathedral valley OHV Loop
Any can't miss hiking trails in Capitol Reef NP? Other things to see/do around Torrey? Both strong hikers wife does not like extreme exposure like angels landing etc.

On the AZ side coming home got the obvious lee's ferry and horseshoe bend, but looking for 1-2 other things to see on the way back. 8.5 hour drive home so not looking to go too far out of the way off the below map(gray route). Would like to do the toadstools hike but dont think well have enough time to do a 9 mile hike, unless there is a quicker way to see some toadstools via FS road or OHV trail

Hey Everyone Theres a group of friends going wheeling Saturday out at the sand hollow sand dunes. We will be doing the west rim trail it rates at a 4 you can make it as hard and easy as you want. I know stock rigs can make it. But there plenty of hard stuff. if you dont take the by passes.

How much have you guys paid to have shocks installed? I wanted to get some 5100s installed on my 4runner, and it sounds like installation alone would be $450. Does that sound right??

You need to switch up your return loop by heading directly south to Boulder, across highway 12 past Bryce to 89.
Look up Kodachrome Basin, there are hikes in that area. There are hikes in Bryce Canyon. Red Canyon is insanely cool. You could drive out Red Canyon to 89, then turn around and take cottonwood canyon road to cutoff much of the pavement on the return too.

Yes, many times. The Jem, Hurricane Rim, Cryptibiotic, More Cowbell trails and others there are most excellent mountain biking.
There are now a handful of established camp sites on the road, near where the Jem cutoff comes back to the road. Also dispersed camping all along there.
Plenty close enough to Virgin or Hurricane to pop into town for needs, yet far enough out that you still feel out in the sticks.
Over in St. George in the green valley gap area there is a big area for camping, and lots of excellent biking trails as well as some fire roads to putz around on with the truck.

Yeah I kinda looked at that as soon as I posted. Only concerns with the return trip is since it is such a long drive we would not have much time to stop and hike anything more than a mile or two. Looking for more quick roadside stops for that one. Maybe it is better to drive up that way first and return through Goosenecks and Monument valley since those are more quick roadside stops?

That's really entirely up to you, your trip timing and wants. You could easily just do the drive nice and easy without stopping to hike. Plenty of scenery just from the road, also a couple really short walks roadside to get into nature a bit. Or flip it and go north through Page on the way up.
You have the correct path on the Mexican Hat side to hit the Moki Dugway. There is a ranger station with some neat info on Anasazi ruins on 261 just a couple miles south of the junction with 95. There are some short hikes there the rangers can tell you about if interested. Since you're right there, might as well take the ~10 min drive (depending on how long you check out the view) out and back to Muley Point. For sure check out Goosenecks overlook too.
It's a very scenic part of the world.

What areas in around Hurricane/La Verkin are you planning to ride? That will help me guide you to some good spots! If you haven't ridden Gooseberry Mesa or Gaucamole, then you absolutely should!

Sheep bridge road looks fine. You can also camp up on the mesas surrounding the Hurricane area.

There are some good spots off Kolob Terrace road going north out of Virgin that I can vouch for. That's where we camped while spectating Rampage. You can even get a small creek crossing in if you want to camp on the other side of the creek.

Thanks! I will look into those. Jem has a big bike race going on this weekend so that is out but I'll check out some of those other spots.

Thanks man! We were going to ride Jem but then found out about the bike race. Gooseberry is going to be too cold for us to camp (two families, 4 kids one is 7 months). I will take a look at the spots you mentioned

Side note, anyone score some TRD gear today? I impulse bought some 3rd gen TRD Pro Tacoma wheels...

Nice! I really considered those. Every other 4R and Tacoma have the black semas so I gave those a hard look but ultimately wanted to have a 16" wheel and I like the gloss finish. Also really considered the bronze beadlocks.
