Well it might be a great town, but it definitely didn't contribute much to our trip. We drove there just to top off our gas and turned out even with driving all over out towards Grouse Creek we still would have had plenty of gas just filling up in Snowville.

That is if you can get the locals parked in front of it bullshitting to move their cars. :D I stopped there to pick up some snacks and there was a woman wanting gas and the guy running the place eventually had to go out and ask a couple of the old timers to move their rigs out of the way. They were just parked there BSing, didn't even notice that the woman wanted gas. It was pretty entertaining they were apologizing like crazy.

Lol, funny. It's definitely a good old boy pace in that neck of the woods. But they are salt of the earth folks.

That was our first time out there. I thought it was a beautiful area and seemed like a very peaceful place. We visit City of Rocks up in Idaho quite a bit and we decided that occasionally we will take the longer route up through Grouse Creek just for a change of pace.

We still need to get out to the Hogups and Newfoundland Mtns. I just want to make sure I have a fairly decent route since there are so many roads just going all over the place out there. I also think I will want to make sure I have something like an inreach or something in case of emergency.

Anyone ever drive up to blue lake near Mt Baldy? considering a camping trip there but haven't been up that way yet. I guess worst case scenario I will pick a different reservoir in the area.

It's definitely a neat place to explore and a remote place. There is limited cell service but an InReach or sat phone would be a good idea if solo.

So I shared these in another thread here on TW but I'm super digging the 2020 TRDPro Tacoma in Army Green. I don't know that I would do any extensive build, just keep it fairly stock and use it as a daily driver and quick day trip trail truck?

    Not much stock left.
It would be a damn nice DD for sure.

I’m kinda liking the new green.

They are still around, but I think the entire core group has turned over. I came into the fold right after the implosion, so I don't know what the crux of the matter was. Ended up meeting a few great people though that group right before a new clan was created.

The gist was a group for people who wanted to take cool trips, but couldn't take weeks or months off at a time, so it focused on 2-4 day trips.

I hate that they put the snorkels on them. Looks so dumb.

HA! I understand the functionality of it, I just can't stomach putting a hole in the side of my truck. Nor do I use it enough in the instances I would need it.
