It was back in mid May actually now that I think about it, coming back from the race in Vernal. Wanted to say there was a 4runner or older taco along with you.

Hmm. interesting. It would have been just me. All the people who I contact to go wheelin have been way too busy this year. Been looking for others to go places with so we can have multiple vehicles stuck. haha.

If anyone needed some inspiration to explore Australia. These guys have some decent videos. I actually was impressed that these videos aren't just 'ads'. If I had the opportunity to move down there for a couple years, I would do it in a heartbeat so I can buy a Hilux or 70 series.

So who is the go to for exhaust work around the Sandy area? Before I toss my money to my favorite bunch at Big O on 7th/90th, figured I'd ask around.

Looking for an exhaust reroute and a new muffler install.

I've been to Master Muffler on 7th E just south of 90th a bunch of times, so has my friend for work a number of his new & old Corvettes. They do solid work, are pretty straightforward, and fairly priced.

OK. I have def heard of them before. When I passed them on Friday though, they had a nice AMG mercedes backed halfway over that retaining wall by the sidewalk resting on the frame. Or maybe that was the shop one over from them.

Drove it a couple years ago. Really nice drive. We did it early in the spring and ran into a lot of snow and mud. This time of year you would be fine.

Is the road wide? I try to avoid scratching my Taco. Did you by chance take the road from Strawberry to Heber?

Master Muffler did an excellent job for me. I wanted the new muffler to not hang below the frame, I wanted the new tailpipe to end behind the rear axle instead of by the leaf spring, and I also wanted the tailpipe routed as far as possible from the spare tire. They did a high quality job plus they were fast and affordable. Highly recommended.

Brutal! No pictures?? Let's hope it was the other shop...
I just checked with Cruiser Outfitters, they send people to State Auto for exhaust work. They welded my sliders on and do great work, plus of course they're Toyota gurus. Don't know why I didn't think of them before.

This thread got me digging around my archives ... Master Muffler welded the low-profile exhaust cutouts on my old ride, then I put electric butterfly valves on them. That was SUCH a fun mod.

A lot of that area has been private property since the 1800s and the same families have been ranching cattle and sheep there for nearly 200 years.

I’ve been wanting to do that route from Hobble Creek Canyon to Strawberry Reservoir as well.

As for Strawberry to Heber, are you just wondering about US 40? It’s a 2 lane highway with occasional passing lanes. It’s a nice drive with the exception of the fast traffic and semi trucks.

I assume it would be wide enough for a taco without scratching it. I have long given up on scratching my taco. I am usually careful but I always loose track and usually end up with a brushing along the side...

There was one spot I remember being narrower but not so much that the brush was rubbing the truck. It’s definitely not a two way graded road though. If you run into other people going the opposite direction someone is pulling off the road to let the others pass.

From strawberry we just took us-40 back to Heber but you can also go across us-40 and there is a network of dirt roads that go up by currant creek reservoir, tower mountain and the top of lake creek, west fork of the Duchesne. You can follow the lake creek road back down into Heber.
