Depends on the dog, my Boston Terrier would be so excited to see someone coming through the window to visit her in the middle of the day.

This may be another excuse I need to get one.

Yeah, most of my friends "security" dogs could easily be bribed with a slice of ham and a belly rub.

I just saw a 22 acre lot up that way for sale on KSL. About 100k. Considered it for a cabin site or just a private camping/hunting/fishing retreat. I think that is what is happening in most cases.

Maybe we could get all the local TW members to pitch in, then we would have private place for gatherings and such.

I'm told they have some decent wireless cameras these days. At least the ones people have shown me from the app on their phone.

Yeah, I've been reading up on them all morning. Maybe I can get one of my "3 letter" friends to give me a hookup on their surveillance gear. :spy:

@Gunshot-6A that's brutal, sucks to start off like that in the new house. Over the years we've had the occasional addict come through the neighborhood looking for something that'd pay for the next fix. Neighbor across the street had his Tundra unlocked on his driveway one night and my camera picked someone up going through the truck but they didn't even take anything  I have visible boards in my windows like you, that's an extra dumb criminal who doesn't see that and give up.

The funny part is I tried to nip it in the bud by intentionally leaving them unpainted so you could see there was a bar in the window.

Still perplexed why you wouldn't use several MUCH easier methods of entry...

    Yeah...it's on the list.

This was one of those "OK, I am gonna pretend to be poor, and not spend anything to let the bank account fill up again" months...guess not.

The wyze are only 25 bucks a cam, but the only draw back is you have to have a power outlet within six ft or so of where you want to put the cam.

Yeah, I def don't. I'm gonna need to run power to the side of the house to run a floodlight as it is. May toss an ethernet cable in the conduit too for cameras.

I looked at them too. Do they need one of those alexa dots to work or no?

The Arlo's are completely wireless too and the battery lasts about six months.

I have the arlos and am pretty happy with them. I have kept it limited to 5 cameras so I don't have to have a subscription, so the main thing is determining where to place them. Since they are 100% wireless it is pretty easy to just move them somewhere else if you decide there is a better spot. It is also cool that you can use the motion sensor from one camera to activate another camera. I have been looking at the wireless spotlights to add because they can also be used to trip cameras and you can have them flash colors or do a variety of other things.

Also I noticed that they tried breaking in right next to the ADT sticker on the window, apparently that didn't scare them off huh? :bananadance:
