Possibly, I need to figure out where a water leak is first though.

What leaf pack do you have? I think you could go up to a 14 without cutting the bed but if your leaf pack doesnt allow more travel you will just be limiting the shock. If you are running longer shocks than what your leafs allow, it may be tough to tune the bypass since dampening changes through the stroke of the shock. Meaning, you may not be able to use the bypass the way it was intended since the stroke location is "in between" the circuits of the bypass.

Another question would be what is your ultimate goal for the truck? Do you ever plan on going down the long travel path? If so, you could look into a spring under kit from chaos or DMZ. You could run 14" shocks without cutting the bed. You will get more travel, flex, and be a bit smoother offroad.

Rocking Dakar heavies right now, so have some extra droop over OEM, but not like a deaver pack. Was talking to Matt at MCM Fab about the ADS 8" triples, but I'm not sure the stroke would be long enough to really effect the truck the way I want. Prob would be better to look at a 14" relo setup.

Truck is avoiding the full LT route. Mine's set up more "expo" style and I don't think that will drastically change. I think if I did go LT, I would find a 1st gen tundra and make that a dedicated play toy.

Famous Last words! Yea, I get it. It is a huge investment. The only reason I went to full long travel with my taco was because I grew up riding in my dads 1st gen Tundra that has a +3.5 Chaos kit and sua deavers in the rear. I knew what I was getting into. I didn't need to build it in steps like a lot of people do. I think I actually saved some coin in the long run.

Yeah, plus having second vehicle set up to play means if I break it (which I def will) then I have something to get my butt home and to work on Monday.

I wanted to go take a peak at Adam's LC as well. Just got wrapped up doing other things. I'm not gonna make BOR Wendover, but you gonna be at the Cruiser BBQ in a couple weeks?

Is there any chance of finding somewhere semi-secluded in AF this weekend? Probably not huh... any suggestions on other places?

LOL, not a chance. I was pondering my escape plan for this weekend as well. Maybe up to the Pocatello, ID area. You mountain bike by chance?

Pocatello? Not a bad idea. Never been up there. unfortunately I dont, did a lot of skate park stuff as a kid but could never afford a mountain bike. Would like to get one soon. Could see about renting one.

I've got a few spares that may fit you. What's your height and inseam? Small town USA but good coffee, beer, and biking.

I am just seeing this now. I still am learning shock tuning but having had a couple different suspension setups on my truck I am not of the belief that a shorter shock tuned well will out do a longer shock that is poorly tuned. I will probably get roasted for that belief but I really never saw much of a difference in my rear suspension until I went to longer shocks to get more travel. So my personal recommendation would be that if you want to upgrade suspension, go with the most travel you can.

This jives with what some others have told me. Seems to me on a 8" shock you can only valve your way out of a jam so much before you just outright need more travel.

Curious what everyone has planned for the last hurrah of the summer?

@Gunshot-6A is possibly heading to Idaho for what sounds like beer and bikes, which would be cool.

    What about everyone else?

We have the Holy War on Thursday, so there’s that.
