Well guys she's gone, done with Tacoma's for the foreseeable future. Got my wife a Rav4, looking to find an FJ for me then in a few years i'll probably get a tundra. Just need the extra room for the kiddos. I'll still be on here every now and again.

Any of y'all have experience with installers of heated seat systems? I've done a little research and saw M&M automotive in sandy came suggested. I am not opposed to doing the work myself but given time and effort required, almost tempted to have someone else do the install.

You should get the seat heaters / coolers. @RyanL has them and they are apparently a dream

I've seen seat heaters being easily installed. In order to get proper cooling function, my understanding is I would ahve to change my fabric to perforated. katzkin heated/cooled seats look to be the premium option here (but very pricey).
At the very least, looking to get heaters installed somehow.

I've had heated and cooled seats in my previous vehicle which was leather. It was a god send in the winter. summer, it was also fairly nice but wasn't all that cracked up to me. much rather take the heaters at the very least.

The generic heating mats are laughably cheap($20) compared to what companies (PRP, Corbeau, Mastercraft,...) charge($150-$200) to install them in seats. If you have the patience and a couple free days I say do it on your own and save a bunch of monies.

I wouldn't go to M&M, they do mostly dealer work and don't have great customer service. Auto Trim Design at about 35th S does excellent work, absolute top notch shop.

The previous owner of my truck had put heated & vented seats in and I agree - heat is great in winter, and the vented wasn't all that. So I modified the system to pipe cooled air into the fans and it dropped the temp 20 degrees. Makes all the difference in the world come summertime!

They charge that because it alters their manufacturing process and takes more time and associated overhead to produce adding to the cost they need to absorb / pass to the customer. Def cheaper to do yourself.

I think this is pretty common knowledge for anything, you simply pay more for a service.

Some people are willing(or able) to cough up that money and some arent. I can only "afford" a lot of my mods because i'm not paying someone else for hourly labor rates. I recently rewrapped my steering wheel on a rainy Sunday with $50 worth of custom cut leather as opposed to paying a restorer $400 to do the same thing with the same materials.

In other news, Xfinity vs Century Link for internet in the SLC area? Am i choosing the lesser of two evils?

Xfinity. Heard a lot of not good things about CenturyLink at least in the Sandy area from coworkers. Plus when i was shopping for utilities, they were a fair bit more expensive for the same service. That said...Xfinity/Comcast can eat me.

A lot of people seem to have a dish type service as well. Also, some SLC areas have google fiber.

Thank you. I'd love to get Fiber, I'll have to see if it's offered in my area.

I had Comcast for years and couldn’t put up with them or their spotty service anymore. Went to CenturyLink a few years back and it’s been fine. Speed tests slower but is plenty fast, and it's steady so I almost never have any interruptions. The "locked in" price is my new favorite thing cause all those scammers are always bumping up the bill every month.

If that is all you have to choose from I'd go Xfinity without a question. Definitely the lesser of two evils there but at least you have a consistent reliable network with Xfinity, I've heard horrible things about CenturyLink with the common detail being awful network connection & speeds.

I'm in Midvale and we were just brought into the fiber world. Utopia is a dream, $80 a month for 1GB up/down. If at all possible that should be a no-brainer.

That's the exact opposite experience I've had :notsure: With Xfinity I had to reboot my modem 2-3x per week to fix the connection, but with CenturyLink it's been once in the past year. Upload speed is like 1999 dialup though.
