Welp boys she was finally found.... WVC (who would have thought). Fuckers drilled out the ignition and drilled some weird ass strap into the dash, looks like an oh shit handle... ????????? lol

Tent and bed rack are gone but wheels and tires are still there. Cleaned out the entire truck of all my stuff but other than the dash and some cigs its not too bad.

Had it towed over to Karl Malone last night so now comes the fun part with insurance.

 

Damn, thats bittersweet. Swap the wheels and tires for some stockers and start over with something fresh.

 

1. Why did they drill the ignition if they had the keys?
2. Did they catch the pieces of crap who did this?

 

Thats what I'd like to know? And unfortunately they didn't. Apparently the neighbors said the truck had been sitting there for almost a week. They also said they saw some guy trying to get into it with a wire and hammer, which is why they called the cops.

 

Maybe at some point they had lost or misplaced the key.

Yeah I agree. We'll see what happens and what they end up fixing. Then, when I get it back I'll decide if I'm gonna keep it or not. Was kind of pumped on the 4runner idea... might still go that route. Lol.

 

If I do sell I should be able to get more money out of it this way rather than if they were to pay me out as an insurance claim.

 

Won’t it be a salvage title? Sure some people don’t care, but a lot more do.

 

I was told thats not always the case, but I'm not quite sure. I'd be pretty fuckin sad if thats the case.

Damn! I suppose it’s bitter sweet. You were likely just coming to terms with it being gone and started thinking about the replacement, then bam! The phone rings.

With all this stolen truck talk, I started looking at some vehicle trackers. Some pretty cheap device options out there but monthly fees kind of suck. I wonder how many thieves check OBD ports for trackers...
