I used to not. until one day at a snowbasin downhill day, I had a pretty good rim hit. didn't pinch flat. but boy was it unnerving. so I ran and threw cushcore into it right away.

Anybody want 2019 OR skids? I got on RCI’s deals when Black Friday came around so I have some with less than 4,000 miles on them.

I had one for Bismark Peak. We ended up with a Pinion Pine!

How hard was the import red tape to navigate? What did shipping set you back?

I'll let Ben clear the record, but based on my conversation with him last week, it sounds like he bought it on this side of the ocean. Like the import company does all the leg work.

There isn't much red tape as long as the car is 25 years old or older. If it's newer than 25 years you can't bring it in or you run the risk of them crushing it, well, I guess you can in special circumstances like if it's strictly a show car and you can only put 2500 miles on it a year or a race car that can't be registered anyways. Shipping depends on which port you go to. Sometimes it's cheaper to ship it to Miami or the east coast because of certain trade routes and other times it's cheaper to ship to Cali or Washington, but usually plan on ~$2k for shipping. You can buy the car one of two ways, buy it yourself on a Japanese auction site or you can go through an import company which will charge a little more (unless you know peeps) and they'll do the paper work and make sure the car can be registered by adding a few things that are required. If you don't do that you have to do those things yourself so I decided to go through my buddy's company cause he'll give it a good look over and make sure everything looks good not only mechanically but legally as well.

After watching CBP crush a beautiful brand new Italian Ducati when I lived by the Port of LA, I would highly recommend you have your papers in order.

yeah I've seen them crush some amazing cars, it's worth it to just not run the risk. They take it more seriously than illegal drugs lol

Pretty sure that's just more of a spite thing though.

The joy a 45K a year CBP agent gets in crushing a 500K car is immeasurable

Update on truck, looks like they might be totaling it. Said they start to consider it when repairs reach 60%, so we'll see. Dash alone was $3000+. Almost at $5k right now without bed rack and tent.
