We can still do this! And bias aside, I gotta disagree, 3M is terrible compared to the Suntek/LLumar stuff we use. I installed tint/clear for 3 and a half years, and I've used tons of different stuff. And this is the best I've used. It doesn't take too much material, and is pretty easy to do. So non-standard stealership fees. I usually only charge 50 bucks for the top of the tailgate.

Right? Once I rode into a crazy 40mph south wind just so I could fly back. 7 grueling miles in I turned around ... and so did the wind. It was ridiculous.

Damn... thank you Conner. Means the world. I'm going to try to go under homeowners but if that doesn't work out I may take you up on that + a steak dinner of your choice. You're the shit man.

On a brighter note, should be buying a new truck this weekend/next week. We should all plan something and get out. Luckily I've still got a shiny new pair of SCS Stealth 6's and Duratracs to throw on the new whip. :burnrubber:

I just earned more life skills by driving over 1500 km around ireland on the left side of the road. I feel like everyone should try this at some point in their lives.

    Highlights:

    - Buy the zero deductible insurance from whatever agency you rent from. It is more expensive but gives you piece of mind.
    - Rent an automatic. I have been driving manuals since I was 15, but I found myself having to concentrate a lot more driving on the left. Whenever I go back to a country that drives on the left, I might rent a manual as they are usually cheaper.
    - Multi lane round abouts are a little confusing, plus you must look to your right as the traffic direction is clockwise.
    - I found my self having to ride the center lane. A lot of the roads are narrow and there isn't much room for newer cars. Its hard to initially gauge the width of the car while driving on the left.
    - Diesel is the 'Black' pump, not 'Green' like it is over here. You must also fill up your tank first before paying. Most gas stations require you to pay inside. I guess there are cameras that scan your plates, so good luck filling and driving away without paying.
    - Google maps definitely has there shit together in ireland. This was very helpful when picking a lane before going through multi lane round abouts.

I've toyed with the idea of driving in England, but so far uber has been the ultimate choice. And I hear you about the narrow roads, they are certainly different than around here.

    Yeah buddy!

Oddest experience I had was in the Bahamas. They drive on the left side like most commonweaths, but all the vehicles they import from the US are also left hand drive. So it legit just feels like you are on the wrong side of the road.

Settle on as in car purchase or insurance amount? Insurance is paying me out $11,908 for the truck. I think I'm going to go with a 2nd gen, I really toyed with the 4runner idea but at the end of the day I want a truck bed and I cant justify the high price of the 4 Runner without one. Insurance check should be arriving today or tomorrow and then its happy shopping. Finally.

I was in Scotland last year and its crazy how narrow some of those roads are, not to mention the blind spots coming over the hills and the fact that everyone does 25km over the speed limit.

They're narrow cuz they are paved over old sheep trails. Same thing with why Boston streets are so windy.

Yes! I went last year, had driven an auto in England for a couple days prior so I went for the manual in Ireland. For a few days after I got home I was reaching for my Tacoma shifter with my left hand and looking out my drivers window for the rear-view mirror.

What a beautiful country though. Did you happen to go to Dingle?

Edit: found a photo. This road even had a little shoulder, it was extra wide

Naw. We only toured the northern part. We went from Dublin to malin head (northern most tip of the country) and then made our way on the west coast towards Galway and Limerick. Definitely need to go back and tour the southern half.

Yea, no kidding! Posted speed limits were around 80km/hr on most remote roads and the locals would easily be doing 100+ km/hr.

Oh man. That would be bad. I feel like that would be the case in the states if I ever imported a RHD cruiser or Defender.

Right?! In England I was booking it through a narrow, windy countryside road, tour buses coming fast the other way super close on the right, and my left side mirror clipping the hedges lining the left edge of the road, no room for error. I'm all white knuckles like I'm whipping through Le Mans ... look in my mirror and there's a little old local lady tailgating me.
