Pretty wild to think that US Air Mail was a thing only 60 years after we were using horses in the Pony Express.

The modern day equivalent, the VOR, is nowhere near as cool.

Great video, thanks for sharing. I loved the pep talk with the deer. You're having a good time out there.

I need to stop seeing city walls and start seeing more dirt and rocks...

Haha thanks Ryan. I love it out in the West Desert. I don't know what it is that keeps pulling me back. And I've always yelled words of caution to deer haha. Just ask my wife. You need to take that sweet Pro of yours out there!

With all the visitors in town for the white pow this weekend, I went out to five mile pass sunday to find some brown pow. It was a bit nerve wracking being out there by myself with my 6 month old in the car, but we had a great time.

Vagabond drifters are so nice. I'm actually planning on building my own version of the go fast camper. Seems pretty easy honestly

good luck with that build, just be sure to use different hinges than GFC. I think someone on TW made one, looked pretty well done.

I love the drifter, can’t recommend it enough.

    What's the lead time like?

Why should I use different hinges?

vagabond is about a year lead time these days.

GFC has had some issues with hinges cracking. there’s plenty of info about it in the latter pages of the GFC threads on here.

Ripcord built one and it wasn't nearly as easy or cheap as you think it is.

Big shoutout to the 3rd gen 4Runner this morning that honked at me for slowing down at a yellow light and then nearly took my back bumper off while running a red light. You weren't even close dipshit. :smack:

Of course the UPD cruiser behind us turned one light earlier. Sweet karmic justice would have made my day

I've saw his post before I posted that comment about making one so I do have a good idea of the cost and how hard it is. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and can weld so I can complete it. It's definitely not cheap but worth it in my opinion.

This question has probably been brought up in here a million times and makes people want to shoot those who ask but I’m going to anyway....any recommendations for who can help with a cab mount chop on a 3rd gen. Picked up a new truck and need to get it prepped for parts on order. I have the plates already and I can do the chopping, just don’t have means to do the welding and figured if someone could do the whole job, all the better. Any local shops that tackle this?

If you're willing to travel, I would suggest you check out Milogen Fabrication first before you go to someone or some place that's local.
