UTAH (and Surrounding Areas) BS Thread

Since we are discussing jobs and moving here I will throw out that I am graduating here next month and am starting my job search. So if any of you know of any openings in IT let me know.

 

IT is my field. What are you looking for? Dev work, system side stuff, something else? One of my teams is hiring for a DevOps/SRE role but I’ve let my managers handle the hiring so far and I believe they are looking for a fairly senior person. However, as I mentioned, my company is doing lots of hiring.

My main interests are in Networking, Systems administration and Security. I think if I needed to I could do Dev stuff but from the programming classes I took I just found that it wasn't really my thing.

 

Makes sense, Dev work is a different world from system work. Network and Security don’t report to me so I’ll ask around and see if they’ve got anything or have anything on the horizon.

Hahaha thanks buddy!! Yeah I figured there’s probably some good Fab shops and what not. Anyone know about the Saint George scene? Pretty close and not too small of an area.

Right now as you know I only build for locals since I Fab part time and get plenty of business in SoCal but I’d be willing to ship if I moved and I’d also be down for anything that needed to be built, not just truck stuff. Was thinking of building 4x6 Offroad trailers, cutting out art or anything that people need from my plasma table (brackets, tabs, whatever you name it). Still have a while before I could actually make the jump so just trying to get a feel and also continue to compile a list of products/services that I could offer that would help me to keep business flowing

Yeah for sure I hear ya on that one. Competition is good. Forces me to up my game haha.

If you wanna come out East put in for diamond mountain or the south slope bonanza or the surrounding area, depending on when you put in I could probably help you.

No where specific yet. We like things about Hurricane, Washington, St.George, Ivins, Green Valley, etc. Really, I’m thinking we’ll probably end up building because our list of must haves is pretty long, specific, some of them semi-unique. Both my wife and I will be working remotely so as long as there’s internet, location doesn’t matter too much for us.

 

haha that’s why I wanna move because I don’t like the way California does crap haha

 

I would personally avoid St. George, unless you’re going there to retire, then you’ll fit in. Cedar City area seems to have a bit of everything within an hour or so.

 

Have you seen Matt's Offroad Recovery on Youtube? He is in Hurricane and is always dragging broken down RZRs and Can-ams out. Maybe you could fab or rebuild side by side control arms and frames
