Im looking to go kayak fishing tomorrow morning.. I was thinking Causey res as I've never been before but everything im reading is saying its a shit show on the weekends.

Any recs for somewhere quieter? I dont really mind too much about the people but i really just want to fish in peace. I know its a big ask for a Saturday.

edit: Horrible grammar hahaha. I should really read things before I post them.

@Shmellmopwho I would second the Cedar City recommendation over St George. Its only an hour different at most and is a pretty cool town in the making.

Plus it's a little closer to SLC, so your chances of attracting business would be better.

Plus I'd get to check out your wife's GX460 that I'm still pondering swapping to.

    Win-Win-Win

So I don’t think I’d be looking in Saint George. Probably more in the Hurricane area near sand hollow lake. I love snow but don’t know if I really wanna deal with it during the winter. So I’d wanna be close to it just not have too much of it haha. I’ll be going back out to my Aunt and Uncles in Hurricane in the fall and probably winter just so I can see more of what it’s like. I’ll definitely go check out Cedar City to see what it’s like. I’ve been there once about 6 years ago when my wife and I were on a camping trip. We stopped for a little bit to grab some groceries and a bite to eat haha.

If I were moving to southern Utah I would move to the escalante area any town around there shit maybe even Moab. Go inland! the only way I would live in cedar city is if I had 50+ acres out side of town in the hills away from all that.

I would but I just need to make sure that I have enough work opportunities too. I’m trying to go to a place where it’s still easy enough for me to get some local business but also have enough of an easy time shipping stuff out too since metal fabrication would be my full time job

I’m a Grip. Rig lighting for movies and TV shows. Probably wouldn’t be able to do that anymore really if I moved to Utah. I do a lot of metal fabrication on the side so I’d probably transition into making that my full time job.

If you're looking for a place on the outskirts of St. George or Hurricane the zoning might even allow you to run a shop on your residential property. And if you also branched out into Heeps and ornamental I'm sure you'd stay busy. Business is booming despite COVID blowing up in Utah right now.

awesome man. Thank you. I’d definitely be willing to branch out to whatever necessary to stay busy. Since there’s a lot of chevy’s and Fords all over the place too was even thinking I could build contractors racks and stuff.
