This is the Trump era. Are there really any rules?

Besides, the beauty is that they have no idea I have it. My father set up a gun trust, so as long as he lives, we’re good.

Well (officially) if he lives outside of the state of Utah he still needs to fill out a form 5320.20 notifying the atf of cross border transfer even inside a trust if it was registered at his home address on the form 1.

Not according to the attorney who set up the trust. I just need a copy of the stamp and the page from the trust stating I’m the co-trustee.

    Edit: Pops lives in utah.

Just bought a new set of fog lights. I was browsing the Baja designs site the other day and found these:

    https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/Squadron-R-SAE-Pair-LED-Wide-Cornering.asp

You can get a 10% discount by using the bdforums code at the check out. I think that code will work on any purchase, so if you buy some LP6's or LP9's, it will be a big discount.

They are SAE certified so they are legal to use on road. Just make sure they are aimed at the ground. My headlights still suck ballz but these at least light up the front area of the truck below my head lights.

I have some squadron ditch lights and an old 40" stealth on the roof. The baja designs quality is top notch. They have come along way from when I would go into there small shop when I was a kid.

Been a lot of controversy with even their revised light design. I ended up going with the DD SS3 Pros which are SAE as well. Love em.

I'm a BD fanboi through and through, but the Diode Dynamics SS3 pros in SAE fog are just flat out better.

@crashnburn80 's fog light thread shows just how much better they are.

I really liked their products too, but I've been thinking about switching my BD Squadrons out for the DD SS3 Pros too. I havent seen how their ditch light lens compares to the BD ones, but I imagine just as good if not better than BD?

Fog lights aside, I love all my BD stuff. I haven't paid attention to the other DD products. I can tell you my S1s are great though.

Sorry for the delay. Missed this somehow.

I got the Recreation plan (the mid-tier one). And the Freedom version (month-to-month), I figure I'm not going to use it enough to justify keeping it subscribed all year.

I used it on the river trip to check in once a day with family. Set up a predetermined message before the trip, and just turned on the Garmin and used the buttons on the device itself to send that message once a day. Only took ~5 minutes, including locking onto satellites. The pre-set messages include recipients, so it's easier to set that up beforehand too. I included my own email as one of the recipients. The daily message sends the text along with a link to your map location. Looks like this:
    Screen Shot 2020-08-31 at 13.58.47.jpg

I was able to read responses on the Garmin, but it doesn't do anything other than plain text. So if someone sends an emoji or something you gotta open the app on your phone to read those. All in all, I'm pretty happy with how simple it is to check in with it. I used a full Inreach for back and forth communications when requesting evacuation (at work), and that has always worked well. I would guess that the mini is tedious to type on, but would work just fine without a smart phone if you needed it.

Just read the review from crashnburn, interesting observations. I am surprised BD actually took notice to the review and sent there fog's out to a 3rd party for review.

I am curious how BD got the SAE compliant approval before the 3rd party review. Looks like they got caught with there pants down. I like how the fix was just a plastic diverter.

Kind of wish I saw that thread before making the purchase last week...

Went south this weekend to Monticello. I’ve never been down to that part of the state. It wasn’t disappointing. It’s definitely in my top three places thus far.

There were so many deer that I felt like I was at a petting zoo. The first day I woke up and looked out the big window of the new tent I was surrounded by deer and wild turkeys.

The route was Jackson Road to Causeway Road to North Cottonwood Road.

This was part of the trail I was on after a massive downpour.

This is wickedddd. Got gps coordinates or a generic map walk on for the area? Wouldn’t mind checking it out

No GPS coordinates and I’m not smart enough to take a pic of Google maps with the route highlighted. However, I gave the road names as they appeared on my guidance display.

EDIT: Also, there is a route from Monticello to Moab that I want to do. It’s part of the Utah BDR that someone posted a while back.
