Thanks for the tips, I went to straptank last time I was up there and was glad it was pretty good since it’s like the only brewery in the state I’m aware exists and having been to a ton down here in SoCal where there’s at least a few in every town. luckily I know I got one brewery close by. And I went up AF Canyon last trip as well and caught a couple fish on the creek which was a lot of fun. Looking forward to exploring more and finding some trail to off road on and places to fish and hunt

Stock you’ll be fine. Make sure to do Imogene, that’ll make you realize how awesome stock Tacomas are alone.

Black Bear pass you may not want to do on your own. I’ve always had a spotter since I’m a little longer than two door Jeeps. Take the turns wide, which I’m sure you know.

i assume you have good tires since there are a lot of rocks and watch your sidewalls. Thats where all the flats I’ve seen up there happen.

Texas flat landers flood the area. A few months ago I when I was there a guy was at Engineer pass, got a flat tire and was doing it in street tires. He still had to go down.

This is something I’ll have to get used to. I like my IPAs and Doubles so this will be a struggle. I’m going to have to stock up on Whiskey and IPAs right before the move

Yeah, a buddy of mine was talking about it and suggested we both go do it together. I'm running wildpeaks. :)

You'll find lots to do here. SLC has a lot more breweries and bars. Utah county is what you'd expect of Utah.

    Not much stock left.
Whiskey? If you could bring six bottles of Four Roses Single Barrel with you, I would...

Haha! Right there at the point of the mountain is called the Zion curtian...so anything south of that is...pretty mormon-y. As you head up north towards SLC, you'll find a lot more diversity along with bars/pubs.

There are a lot of nice fishing spots here. Up AF, you can fish the river, Tibblefork and a little higher up than that is Silver Lake and Silver Lake Flats. Strawberry is a good one for trout and salmon. Deer Creek has bass, trout, walleye and carp. Utah lake is kinda gross at times, but you can catch white bass and catfish there pretty easily and if you're lucky maybe some walleye.

    A few pics below.

Trout caught in the river just a few minutes past the reservoir where I caught the fish above

Upper Silver Lake (you have to hike to it)

Grayling caught at lower Silver Lake (drive to it, 15minutes past Tibblefork)

The beers I can live with. Sundays will take some adjusting. Any vehicle inspections? Whats the truck registration run over there? How healthy is the 2nd amendment?

Vehicle emmissions testing is done first registration and every other year. No safety inspections anymore. I have mixed feelings on this. Mudflap laws, etc were subjective and sorta dumb, but since theyve gone away, Ive seen a lot more REALLY shitty/dangerous cars on the road.

Registration is like 200ish for my 2015 I think. +- emmissions fees (~$50)

2A is quite strong in Utah. Like 1 in 5 have their CCW, and its pretty easy to get. Not VA easy, but Utah's gets you more for your buck anyway.

Appreciate the input! Sounds like our vehicles are treated fairly similar. Need to plan another Utah trip asap!. Thanks again!

Oh ya I’d be more than happy to give up a lot to get out of California and get to Utah. I’m super stoked to move up there and have some more freedom and enjoy everything Utah’s got to offer. Just 7 more days

Those fish are legit, haven’t caught a big brown on a fly yet so that’s my goal right after I get up there. I’ll check out those spots thanks for the pics

Yeah it's strange down there ... I'm a pretty involved church member and even for me Utah County is uncomfortable
