Usually warm and blustery this time of year means snow is on the horizon.

Hey guys, I’m planning to move to the salt lake area in January from Nashville, TN. Any recommendations on places to look for apartments? Areas to avoid? I’m currently applying for jobs and plan to live in an apartment for about a year then planning on buying a house.

lol. you're like the what...5th person on here asking? Everyone's moving here. damn.

Depends on where you want to be int he valley and how much you want to pay I suppose. Downtown SLC is pricier and localized areas are smaller. going a bit more south like at Sandy would be further but you'd get a little bit more bang for buck. There's always tons of places to rent. :)

I was fully expecting this to be the first response. Nashville is the same way and I’ve been saying the exact same thing to everyone moving here. Sorry guys. Good news (I guess?) is that I can weld and know these trucks forwards and backwards and am more than willing to help everyone with truck mods.

Thanks for the help, I’ll check out the sandy area. From what I understand y’all’s traffic isn’t that bad? If so, I wouldn’t mind having to drive 20-30 minutes into downtown if that’s where I end up working.

    ...for now.

Sandy around 9000 South would fit your timeframe and price. Not sure of your budget, but this apt complex is where I lived for a spell and was pretty nice.

I follow several state and regional threads because I love to off-road/camp/explore. The TW Utah is the only one where some smartass inevitably and always posts that the state is full, or oh we are glad you aren't traveling through my corner of the state. We get it already. All I get out of this is that Utah is amazing, but its TW members are not.

PS I will be repeatedly visiting all corners of Utah throughout the rest of my life, despite all the smartass remarks.

When outdoor recreation venues are more crowded than ever and the cost of living is skyrocketing due to the influx of people in the last several years, sorry for having a bit of fun at the newcomers expense. @Kerleyfries knew we were just toying with him. Lighten up.
