FB just reminded me I got my first Tacoma 11 years ago. Loved that 1st gen.

How long have you guys been driving Tacomas?

I bought a brand new 1st gen in '01. I like my two 2nd gens better, but the first Taco was what got me interested in Toyotas. Now I have the two Tacos and a Corolla.

You were living the good life! That was the new cool truck back then, first year of the refresh.
I miss the smaller size but 100% love my 2nd gen too.

Isn't it weird how car companies alway increase the size of models we learned to love as small? The biggest mistake Ford ever made was making the T-bird into an Ocean Liner.

For real it's getting ridiculous. My 6' friend carries a stool in his new full size Chevy cause he can't get over the bedsides into his toolbox. And for what, to be bigger than the other manufacturers?

Maybe it's so they can sell those expensive folding tailgates. And replacements. About the only full sized truck I would ever like to own is a '47 Power Wagon.

The Fords are stupid big... and the drivers think they own the road.

Yeah, it seems everyone is running Cooper’s, so they can’t be too bad.

I am considering Mickey Thompson’s, but they don’t make a 285/75, so I would have to go to a 33” tire. I’m not set up for 35’s.

    For those that care:

Antlerless Elk tags go on sale July 20th,

if you want to buy a private land permit for Diamond Mountain, there’s 200 tags available, I’ve got about 3000 acres you could have access too.
You have to have someone in my family with you, hunts run from August first to the end of the year I think.

So finding a weekend wouldn’t be hard.

14 for the most part. But I get that whether I’m crawling rocks or running 90 down the interstate.

19/20 for me in both my trucks. @ $3.65 a gallon you pay for those big tires twice or more.

Truth. Which is why I need new tires. I’m lacking some tread depth. Then we go back for a redo.

LOL... I prefer narrow tires in snow. I want my tires to sink and find something solid. Same in mud unless it's so wet hyper tires will float the damn truck, lol. I'll grant you big tires do better in sand, but otherwise it's more the driver than the tires.

    Besides... $3.65 a gallon. :p

33/10.5 is narrow enough for me

So far I am liking the skinnies on the GX. 255/75/17 Firestone destination x/t. I can get about 19 on the highway so far. I wish I had looked into skinny tires earlier and put them on the Tacoma.
