UTAH (and Surrounding Areas) BS Thread

Did some fun exploring around Whitney over the Labor day weekend and had a good chance to put the skid plates to a test as we did hit them twice. Climbed up to the top of Moffit Peak and was the only vehicle up there that wasn't a side/by/side. Took the wife and it was perfect as she said on the last trail.... "Yeah, you should get some bigger tires and upgrade the suspension"..... yee ha!

 

OUCH!

 

Gonna need a body mount chop done soon anyone have the tools to do this an in the SLC area willing to help a fellow out? Or point me in the right direction?

This actually look pretty beefy honestly. Way better then the other ones I have seen out there. Kind of tempting to just go that route

 

Anyone in UT want a free Transfer Case Skid for their 2nd or 3rd gen? NOTE: will need very slight modification (re-drilling a couple of holes) but is completely functional. From Victory 4x4... Tacoma Transfer Case Skid Plate | 2nd & 3rd Gen (05+) - Victory 4x4. Comes with both the flat plate and the drop plate insert to accommodate standard exhaust or re-routed exhaust. When I ordered , there was a slight oversight in manufacturing that mis-aligned the bolt holes for the exhaust plate inserts as well as a mis-bend on the front flange where it bolts to the truck. They made it right and got me a correct one, but I now have the first one that needs home if anyone wants it. Steel and black powder coated. I test-placed the first one on my 3rd gen when I did my exhaust re-route so I know it will work fine if you make the small adjustment. I like this style as it mounts to the truck without any additional support brackets needed and it spans from both beams of the frame. Send me a message if you'd like it and are wiling to come to the Layton area to pick it up.

Hello Utah! I’m from the Portland OR area and will be near Ogden and Salt Lake City this coming week. I was thinking about trying to make a trip to the salt flats. Anything else I should consider visiting?

 

The salt flat are pretty much the best thing we have to offer, no need to look around any further

The Salt Flats are a bit of a drive from Ogden but worth a visit, the Spiral Jetty and the Golden Spike center are a little closer up north. Atalope Island, Snowbaisin, or Park City are good spots for hiking. Hopefully others will chime in, disregard the dick comment.

It's getting pretty old isn't it.

 

Although I don’t live in Utah, I wheel/camp/hike there like 10x a year. But sure as hell am not gonna try to reach out to locals to wheel with them with the constant damn comments like that. I follow a lot of other regional threads and this one is the most unwelcoming. I mean we are all Tacoma nerds. Take a fuckin chill pill.
